I just got my approval letter for Synagis (RSV). Go Premera Blue Cross!
He was approved for 5 injections of Synagis. His dates are 11/15, 12/14, 1/10, 2/7, and 3/7.
Baby Aidan does not do shots very well. He had baby tears with his 4 month shots. And then it was difficult to get him to calm down and go to bed that night. So I am hoping that this be worth it, and he will be able to get through all of these injections. There is going to be a visiting nurse who is going to come to our apartment and administer the injections.

Re: Baby Aidan approved for Synagis (RSV)
Aww, poor little guy with regard to the shots...but horray for Synagis approval!
Just to give you fair warning, the Synagis shots are worse than other shots IMO. Corri has always done well with shots; no reactions, she only cries for like a minute afterwards and then gets over it, and thats it. Synagis was a WHOLE different ballgame!
First off, the shot is administered slowly...it took a good 30 seconds to get the entire shot into her little leg. Also, once your LO is over 15 pounds, the usually break the shot down into two syringes, so they get stuck twice!
Luckily for the first shot Corri was only 15 pounds so it all went into one syringe, but the poor baby SCREAMED at the top of her lungs for the entire 30 seconds the shot was going in, and the sobbed uncontrollably for 10 minutes afterward...there was no consoling her
She didnt have any kind of reaction to the shot itself though, so that was good, but the shot giving process was traumatic for both of us.
Just a little head's up...hope your little guy does ok with them!
