We are considering VBAC for this baby and OB is on board (more or less once they get the OR report from the hospital I delivered at with DD) and we found out today during my NT scan that I most possibly am going to have an anterior placenta. I am starting to do some research on this and am going to talk to OB about it once we get the OR reports back (NT scan wasn't done in office, but at a hospital fetal imaging center) and see what the options are. Anyone have any insight what is and is not possible?
Re: Question abdout Anterior Placenta and VBAC
I had an anterior placenta until 33 weeks. It moved all the way from just below my belly button to the top of my fundus. I had to have two repeat u/s to monitor it a few weeks apart. Other than that, I was told as long as it wasn't placenta previa, then VBAC was fine. The only reason they wanted to monitor my placenta was to make sure it was no where near my c/s scar (in case I were to need a c/s, some serious complications could arise -- blood loss, etc).
Most placentas will migrate upwards, so hopefully you won't have any issues. HTH and GL!
