so my mom bought me this adorable bunting to bring the baby home from the hospital next month. It's soft and fabulous, but I'm just wondering if its really safe. the zipper doesnt convert the sac bottom into separate legs. so i don't think i could ever use this if the baby is going to be in the car seat.
what do you ladies think? I hope my question my sense - it's been a long week! i am ready for the weekend to start already!
Re: bunting
If you want an alternative for the car that has feet- I got this one for 12 bucks at Old Navy.

It is not safe to use any type of snow suit/bunting in a car seat. The coat is like a pillow that compresses in an accident, creating loose straps. Baby could possibly be ejected from the car seat through the top if the straps are loose enough.
I light hoodie or fleece jacket will work with a bunch of blankets or you can get a shower cap style car seat cover.

We bought this for the baby on days I take our older child to the park. It seems thin but I think it will be to thick to use in the car seat.
It isn't super thick material but if you have ever worn performance fleece - it keeps you really warm. Super soft too! It was the best deal I could find and I'm a super bargain shopper.
