great book(s) for someone moving to Dallas area?

My bro & SIL are relocating to Dallas in the next 6 months. They're big foodies (he's a chef) and I was thinking of sending them the Dallas Zagat but discovered there is only a Texas Zagat & it is from 2009 (they subscribe online anyway but I thought it would be fun)... 

Anyone know of any great recent books, magazines, etc that would be helpful for someone moving to the area to learn about restaurants, events, cultural things, etc? I'm not really looking for a tour/guide book like the kind for tourists/visitors.

    Maybe a subscription to D Magazine?  Are they living in Dallas proper, or a suburb?  DFW is huge...

    I think they want to live in Dallas, in some urban type area that they said was a mixed living type space- lots of new housing close to restaurants, shopping, etc? I'm not really sure but it is definitely not fort worth.
