Bummed out about RSV..

So Luke was wasnt approved for his RSV shot. They appealed it and he still wasnt approved. I feel like they made such a big deal saying he should have it and now he wont get it. My docs office put in for 11 babies and only 3 are getting it. I just feel bummed out.The people said he just didnt have enough critirea expect being a preemie. Anyone else not approved?

    I just posted above you.  i even wrote a 3 page appeal letter to the insurance company.....and spoke to them during a hearing over the phone.  I am sad and so mad at the same time.

    It is ridiculous.  Every year the criteria is more strict on who can get the shots.  This is the first year there are the age at start of season limits restrictions.  I know the shot is expensive, but a hospitalization is way more.

    We were d/c'd from the NICU on Tues (son is 24weeker) and at d/c the neo said we would probably get Synagis for 2 years.  I laughed at him.  No way will they approve next year unless is his on therapy for CLD and since he is not right now, I am hoping we stay that way.  I am a pediatrician myself, and all the tricks I have used in the past to get babies approved have been denied this year.

    I wasn't approved for the twins at first but then I lied. I said that I had to go to work and the twins would be in daycare and I also said we had a family history of asthma and that extended family members smoked. Then we were approved. Yes lying is bad but oh well, my kids were protected.
