Birthing From Within / Hypnobirthing - Local Classes?

Has anyone taken either class here in Metro Detroit area?

If so, where did you take class? (location) (contact phone # or email if you have it)

What was approx. cost?

Would you recommend class?

 Did techniques help you during your birth?

Where did you deliver (home, hospital, birthing center)?

    DH and I took Hypnobirthing thru Troy Beaumont, which is where we delivered our son. You do not have to be delivering at one of the Beaumont Hospitals to take the class though. Here is the link:

    I found the class to be very beneficial. It was a little expensive, but well worth it since I had an easy, relaxed birth. I was lucky to have a doctor that was also supportive of natual births as well, which was very helpful. She honored my birth plan and did not try to sway my decision to not take pain medication.

    I loved the class because it taught me relaxation techniques, which is hard for me since I am such a high energy person. I will say that I was in labor and didn't even know it until I got to the hospital and told me I was ready to go and I do credit some of that to being prepared and relaxed throughout the last few months of pregnancy thanks to the class. I really do think if you are educated on what is going on, it makes labor and delivery a lot less stressful and in turn less painful since when you are relaxed, you are able to allow your body what it is supposed to do.
