I used Bare Minerals once. For a wedding, the makeup artist at the salon used it. I wasn't too satisfied with the coverage and it made me shiny within a few hours.

I used Bare Escentuals for a long, long time and was moderately happy with it. However, when I ran out a couple months ago, I really didn't feel like spending $30ish bucks on another jar (even though one jar did last me for quite some time). I started looking around and decided to try Ulta's brand of mineral foundation. I am super happy with it so far. It provides much better coverage and is half the price of BE. The only minor drawback is that it had a little bit of a chemical-y smell the first couple times I used it. After 2 or 3 uses, though, I either got used to it and couldn't smell it anymore or it went away somehow. I'd definitely recommend it.

Good question! I have used Bare Minerals for a long time and have recently decided I don't totally love it. I too feel shiny and greasy after using it. And I can't quite get it to match my skin tone... I'm liek halfway between yellow and pink undertones so I'm a tough match. I have toyed with buying the brand Costco sells. I don't know what it is called but if anyone has tried it I wonder if they like it?

A month or two ago I bought some from Mary Kay and I absolutely love it!! I am officially a convert. I have sensitive skin (many soaps and deoderants irritate my skin and I'm allergic to most sun screens) and so it's hard to find make-up that doesn't make me feel completely itchy. This stuff doesn't bother me one bit and I don't even realize I'm wearing any. I've never been a huge promoter of anything I use but seriously - I love this stuff! (haha, and no, I don't sell Mary Kay Smile

I've used Mary Kay mineral makeup and been pretty happy with it and I've also used Jane Iredale. The MK at least stays on my face (but I prefer the liquid foundation b/c I also wind up looking a little shiny) and the Jane Iredale was gone by lunchtime. What's the point of that?

I use BE and have for almost 2 years. I am usually always oily, but have noticed less oil and shine since giving birth. I am mostly happy with the coverage, although I am very fair, so sometimes even the bisque concealer is too dark under my foundation (fair).
