Snarky and T-TTC

Stop me if you've heard this one before...

So, I went to a funeral this week.

We're hanging out at the wake when cousins A & B  arrive - cousin B with her 6 month old. (A&B are sisters)

Auntie X slides up and starts talking about how A must be "barren" because she doesn't have kids yet, she's married, her little sister already has one - I guess it's a contest? First to 5 kids gets a prize?

X decided to go "ask them about it". Yes, because that's the most appropriate thing one can do at a wake - ask if you're, and I quote, "Barren".

I talk her out of it because it's a wake, she might be sad, (It's only grossly inappropriate) and if she wanted to talk about it X would surely be her first choice. (Lies! Total lies! We avoid her because of this complete lack of discretion)

My thoughts:

A) She wants to have kids but has a different timeline with her DH

B) She's having trouble having kids

C) It's none of my *** business because I'm not married or having sex with either of them.

I see A later and tell her that Auntie X was blowing her mouth off about family conflict #1, #2, A's lack of children, #3 - just so she knows it might come up.

There was not nearly enough drinking at this wake - can't decide if it would have made things better or worse.
