Colds while pg?

Did anyone else have to deal with this? I work in a hospital, so I know I'm suseptible to more things than the normal person.... Yesterday I woke up with a scratchy throat. Today it's full blown sore & I'm stuffed up. DH says it's the change in the weather and probably just allergies. I don't want to run to the doctor every time something happens, but I also don't want to put something off that could create problems. How did you deal with this during pregnancy? TIA for everyone's help, I know I'm being a nervous nellie...but, I'm sure most of you can relate!!

    They suck.  I never get sick and I had 2 colds while PG.  Unfortunately, you just have to deal with it.  There is a list of meds that are OK to use during PG.  I don't have a link off hand, but I'm sure if you google it, you'll find it.  Also, one of the girls may chime in with it.  If you have a PG book, they usually have them listed in there, too.  I think Thera Flu is safe because I'm pretty sure that's what I used.

    I've had a few while pg, and have one now too..grrr.   babycenter.com has a list of medicines that are ok.

    Luckily, I only had 1 cold when I was pregnant, & it was really mild. I work in healthcare too, so I was worried about all of the exposure. I was a nut about gargling with salt water every night, & I also swabbed my nose with q-tips dipped in salt water every night when I came home from work (Dr. Oz tip).  I drank hot tea every night before bed to hopefully kill any germs in my digestive tract.  Maybe this had nothing to do with me not getting sick, but it made me feel better!
