getting in shape csection

I know it may be too soon but I just had a csection 3 weeks ago and im dying to lose some weight. I know I cant work out untill I see my doctor and she gives me teh ok but im wondering how long for a csection tummy to go down to atleast what my tummy looked like before? Is there anything i can do to see faster results?

Re: getting in shape csection

  • The best thing you can do is focus on your diet. I have had 2 c-sections and exercise definitely helps but diet is crucial for losing fat on your stomach. I BF so I don't really diet but I do watch what I eat and limit sweets/fried foods, no soda and healthy fats. Once you are cleared for exercise cardio will also help you lose weight and core exercises will help you to tone/tighten your stomach. I think it took close to a year for my stomach to get back to where it was pre pregnancy with my first, sadly I don't think it will ever be a tight as it was pre pregnancy now that I have had my second...

  • I had a c-section in mid August and was cleared to exercise at the end of Sept.  Like you, I couldn't wait to get started losing the weight and reclaiming my flat tummy.

Before i could exercise, I wore a belly binder that the hospital gave me all the time. I really feel like it helped flatten.

At the beginning of Oct, I started the Insanity program.  I am half way through the program and have lost all the baby weight.  My tummy is pretty flat, tho it can still use some toning.  The program is mostly cardio, not toning.

I wear a band around my stomach while exercising for extra support.  I highly recommend this program for weight loss, if you are not afraid to exercise hard. It is difficult and somewhat hard on the joints, so if you are not in shape at all or didn't workout while pregnant I wouldn't start out with it.  But if you are interested in the program, it really works!

  • I was going to ask this too. I'm worried after I have the csect because I'm on bedrest and will probably be on bedrest for a total of 11 weeks
