Ben and I both have nasty colds, so we went ahead and packed the boys off to their carer today (they haven't shown any signs of being sick, so cross fingers and send vibes that it stays that way).
Totally the right thing to do - we're both struggling just to get ourselves through the day - but I still feel vaguely guilty that I'm sitting at home and not taking care of them. But being able to rest all day will help us get better faster, right? Right.
Re: feeling a bit slack
Yeah, this is the other concern - I know they've already been exposed at this point, but I figure it can't hurt to keep a little distance just for the day.
exposure is all about dosing too so if there is a lower dose of virus particles, their immune systems may be better able to fight it off than at a higher dose.
don't feel bad, you need to rest!

oh yes, you're just a horrible mother for sending them away so they don't get sick! LOL
Totally the right thing to do!!!
You get time to get better, and they get someone who has the energy and patience to care for them and play with them. Win-win!!
you totally did the right thing!
I get random days off work here and there and I use to keep Jack home with me no.matter.what. but lately I have been taking him in at least 1/2 the day. We pay for it by the month, so we may as well use it. I do wonder what the teachers/other parents think when I drop him off in my gym attire. hah.
