VBAC

I really love lurking here

even though I'm not a VBAC candidate. You ladies make me feel like it's okay to not be happy with Ryan's birth, and for that, I love you. Hopefully my next c/s is a little more calm!

I had an emergency c/s with Ryan. My pelvis was too narrow for him to fit (I'm really tiny and he wasn't that big, only 7lbs 4oz) and his heart rate dropped to the 40's. It was terrifying. The were running with me down the hallway screaming at people to get out of the way, it felt like an episode of Grey's Anatomy. It felt like it took him forever to cry, so I could know he was okay. I didn't get to hold him for a couple of hours beacuse I was so out of it and I was afraid I would drop him. Luckily we kept his name a secret so I was still the first one to call him by name (DH waited for me to do it).

I just wanted to say you ladies are awesome!

  • I'm sorry about your emergency c/s. I am currently reading Silent Knife and I like how in the book they talk about how c/s's can be peaceful, happy events. I think that's a lot of where my emotions from DS's birth stem from, not so much that it was a c/s (although there is some element to that) but the emergent and scary nature of it.

So I hope you can get the positive c/s experience you're hoping for.

    this exactly!

and I love this board also.  I'm so so so glad they finally added it to the Bump.  And it's even better than I thought it would be...so much support and great advice : )

  • I love to lurk here too.  My dd was breech and it was the only reason I had a c/s.  I love hearing everyone's stories and advice.  I'm so hopeful for a VBAC (although I'm not even TTC).... I was so thankful that I actually went into labor and my water broke the day of my scheduled c/s - I felt like she was meant to come that day, not that we were forcing her.  The good news was I was also 5 cm dilated right before the section (I made them check me again just in case she flipped).

  • (hugs)  Wishing you a fabulous c/s experience this next time!!  :)  And I agree - it is so therapeutic to be able to share and know other people understand.
