funny story

So the other night LO didn't settle very well when I was reading him books, and he had already had his bottle before his bath (he was crying for it as I made it, so I deviated from our routine).  So I tried to take him into our bed as per usual, and he will usually crawl around for a little, maybe 10 minutes, and then settle down and snuggle and fall asleep.  Well, after a half hour of trying to wrangle him so he wouldn't crawl off the bed, I took him into his room and put him in his crib so he could play - I thought - too much energy - ok burn it off.

Well, he just kept trying to climb out of the crib to get to me, so finally I was so frustrated I gave up and grabbed a throw pillow and blanket from the chair and launched myself into the crib.  After another half hour of  him crying and trying to settle himself, he finally fell asleep.  (no worries, as the crib is rated for over 300lbs - no idea why, but glad I knew that ahead of time)

so now here we are, asleep in the crib.  well, one of us was.  I was busy trying to figure out HOW TO GET OUT without tipping it over!!!!!  LOL 

Luckily MH came up to go to the bathroom and saw us in there.  He had to bring me a chair so I could get out.  Then we all went to bed in the big bed. 

Anyway, this was my funny story from the other night. :)  Hope it made some of you smile!!

    that is really funny & reminded me of an episode of Raising Hope (which is really funny if you haven't seen it), but anywho in the episode the grandpa asks the young dad how Hope is sleeping & he says she won't sleep unless we are in bed together & then they cut to a scene with him in her crib & his arms & legs sticking out of the slats.  It was really funny too!  (the scene may have lost something without the visuals! Stick out tongue)

    haha.  ever since I first saw this video, i've wondered what would possess a parent to crawl into the crib! Big Smile

    they must have found an older crib, b/c I could not get my feet between the slats (which are 2 3/8" apart)!  I haven't seen it though - I'll have to look for it!

    haha. that made me smile! i am a little bit jealous that he will snuggle up w/you and fall asleep. i don't think A would ever do that, she will just crawl all over me and try to walk across the bed and play etc.  i can't wait until she gets bigger and i can ask her to snuggle w/me and we can fall asleep together :)

    Lol! I can't believe you crawled into the crib! I do a non-crib-crawling version of snuggling in his crib where I sometimes go on tiptoes and lean half my body into his crib so I can put my head flat facing him and hug him with one arm because he loves to be hugged and feel my face as he goes to sleep (it's sort of a lingering habit from our cosleeping days...we just transitioned him into his own room a week ago). But I never considered getting into his crib with him! It must've been so funny for YH to see you in there like that! Good thing he came to the rescue too! =)
