Snarky and T-TTC

Treatment pros - please come in

So, I feel like it is getting close!!! And apparently I read too much without taking notes.... Anyway, I am putting together a little "care package" shopping list if you will, for myself. Basically all the stuff I think I will need or want during my injections and then after ER and ET through the end of bedrest. So far I have:

Some type of electrolyte drink (I read somewhere that those can help with OHSS? OH and do you think the fake Powerade Zero is bad for me? Probably)

Leggings and other loose, comfortable clothing that looks reasonably appropriate outside of the house (for the bloat, dontcha know)

Prune Juice (since I hear Progesterone constipates you)

Magazines

Comfy slippers/socks

New pajamas

Pantyliners (since I am doing Gel Progesterone, for the ooze)

Tylenol

I have netflix including instant watch and some Tivo'd shows I can catch up on. Plus a lot of books too. I suppose I can also try singing the endless set list on rockband, since I won't allowed to play drums or my wii.

Should I also have readily available snacks and meals? All I can even consider wanting is comfort carbs, but I keep reading that you should eat a lot of protein.

What else would you recommend? Something that saved you, or even something you wish you had thought of? I am such a planner, and there is probably a very good chance I will be alone on at least some of my bedrest days, since H is now working.

Ditto.  I know nothing about bedrest or treatment tips, but OMG OMG OMG OMG it is happening soon!

  • That list looks good!  I would have some snacks and very easy to make meals on hand.  Sounds like you are all ready!

I am so excited for you! :-)

  • I don't know if you're worried this would jinx it, but I remember a gal bought a pair of maternity jeans to wear so she could look cute but still handle the bloat. That might be something to think about if you think you're going to need them.

    GL!

I have totally considered this, I might pick up a bella band, but i am a little superstitious so I don't know if I should go all the way to Maternity jeans? I was hoping leggings (in a large size) under some loose fitting dresses would work, you know, until I really need maternity stuff

Understood. Just thought I'd throw it out there in case it hadn't crossed your mind.

  • Very exciting!

I'm sure you already have a laptop, but I had to borrow one. It was my life saver! I think your list looks good.

I don't have a laptop. :( I have a touch and a smartphone, but I know it's not the same. I have been hinting for a netbook though. A lot of good that smartphone is going to do for me - won't be checking in on Foursquare
  • Your list looks really good.  Readily available snacks/easy meals are a good idea to have.  My H just ended up getting takeout for us the two days after my ET when I just parked myself lying down on the couch.

Well you have some time. Maybe an early Christmas present or a injection present :) Or maybe ask around if someone has an old one they don't use or one they are willing to let you borrow for a few days.
