  I agree, I think it's tacky and a tad bit *shady* to invite people, especially thinking that it's going to be a friendly get together like usual.

  It seems like she took advantage of the fact that you girls get together every month as a way to get lots of hostess credit and not to any more work...I'd be giving her the side eye too.

  Has it been done before? Is this the first time someone is using a bunco party to also sell stuff? If so, I would say it is super duper tacky. Ew.

  Some people are weird though. I had a good friend that combined her bridal shower with a body shop demonstration/selling thingy. I hated the experience.

  I'd probably be annoyed.  Hopefully there won't be a presentation or anything and you can just look or not - depending on how you feel about it that night.

  No...that's tacky. If she wanted to do a jewelry party it should have been a separate event.

  My suggestion is to either skip it this month or better yet call her and ask when the demonstration part will be...tell her you'll come for Bunco before or after so you can play and catch up with everyone, but you're going to skip the sales pitch since you're super busy/tired/whatever and won't be buying anything anyways.

  This reminds me of a post in the Baby Showers board about someone who's hostess wanted to have her aunt set up a table at the shower to sell her handmade stuff to her shower guests... Definitely Tacky.

  No, it's never been done before. At the minimum, she should have at least said at the last party "Hey, would anyone mind if I did this?" The purpose of our GTG's is to play Bunco,drink (I'm of course not doing this right now) and gossip. That's it. Not buy crap! lol.

  I dunno. It wouldn't bother me. Those jewelry parties are usually just the lady with her crap laid out on a table. No pressure sales like Pampered Chef or something.

  I think its tacky, because this person will be making money off of something that is traditionally just a friendly get together of sorority sisters! I feel as if this is her quick ticket to make a profit without having to throw a seperate party. Obviously she doesnt have enough people wanting to throw a party, and she's having to use this as her oppurtunity to make some money!

  That is super tacky! I'd be way annoyed. I love going to bunco but that would totally ruin what makes it relaxing and fun.
