I told DH that I want to buy DS a doll before baby is born in March so I can teach him to be gentle with a baby. DH said, "no way"
What do you think, would having a doll ahead of time be helpful? Or should I buy a doll anyway just to spite my husband?:)

I bought him a soft baby doll a couple weeks ago and he loves it. He picked it off the toy shelf when we were shopping at TJ's and wouldn't put it down. Only his stuffed Elmo ranks higher as favorite lovey.
ETA: Oh, and when I mentioned it to DH later that day he was unphased, thought it was a good idea with the baby coming.
I completely agree, I think its ridiculous that DH said he didnt want DS to have one. He acted the same way about buying a toy kitchen too.

My Mom bought him one. It's the kind that closes it's eyes when you lay it down. It's cute, he lays it down and says "night night".
I would get one. It can't hurt.
DS has soft doll that he likes. I have no problems with DS playing with dolls.
This exactly! If it has wheels or can possibly roll, H loves it. He doesn't have any sort of lovey.
Yes, he has this one. He loves his baby like crazy.
