Hi Ladies -
I am in that window that we all look forward to - the "get my baby moving window" He has been graced by the doctor to come out at any time so we are trying to get a move on!
Tell me again about the red raspberry tea and can i just get that at a grocery store or is it more of a specialty item?

Re: Raspberry Tea
I don't remember what it's supposed to do exactly.
I'm a big tea drinker and coincidentally enjoy raspberry tea and buy it all the time at various grocery stores. The last box I bought was a decaf version from walmart.
I got red raspberry tea at the grocery store and under ingredients, it just says raspberry flavoring :P So I went to Vitamin Shoppe and got red raspberry leaf supplements.. It hasn't done anything for me but its supposed to help with contractions
Red raspberry leaf tea is only supposed to help tone the smooth, longitudinal muscle of your uterus, potentially making for a quicker labor/recovery because the uterus theoretically contracts more efficiently. It does not induce labor.
I got some at Whole Foods.
This. RRL tea when drunk on a regular basis helps to tone the uterus and makes contractions more effective, but it is not a stimulant that will make you have contractions. Black and blue cohosh are said to induce contractions though.
RRL tea tones your uterus. It does not give you contractions & won't induce labor.
Remember too - even though the Dr. "graced your baby to come out" doesnt mean he's ready.
Good luck! Hope you have a smooth labor & delivery.
I was told by my naturopath that Red Raspberry LEAF tea is great AFTER you have the baby to help your uterus, but you also have to drink a lot of it, like 5-6 cups a day everyday. Personally not too sure about helping induce labor, however I do know that you are not supposed to drink it early on in pregnancy because it can cause miscarriage.
I used to drink it while TTC, but because of some of the confusion on what it does I would only drink it while I had AF to help my uterus shed all the unwanted tissue.
