Anyone receive updates on what there LO should be doing at each stage? I received 2 today (1 from the bump and 1 from 365) and DS isn't even close to either of what they said... anyone else like this??
Ds is 24 weeks today and it said he should be saying "ba-ba", "ma-ma" and "da-da" (the bump)... um, we're lucky to get an "mmmmm" and I think it's just cause I say it so much when he's eating solids. And then the other one said he should be able to point at something when you say what it is (ie. "Point at the puppy"). Um, yea, he turns his head - but I think it's more because he hears my voice.
I'm thinking of discontinuing them (or at least not reading them) because they freak me out. I know babies develop at their own pace, but it's hard not to get worried.
Re: milestone questions
I don't receive updates, but I look at a milestone chart. My chart says that "jabbering" is an advanced skill at 6 months of age and only a few kids can do it. It doesn't say anything about pointing to things. The main milestones it says he should have mastered are turning towards sounds or voices (which you said he does), rolling over in both directions, and imitating sounds (which you said he does). Some milestone charts differ. So I wouldn't go by just one. I think your LO is right on track!
ETA: My chart says pointing to objects is an "emerging" (aka intermediate) skill at 8 months. Here's the web site: https://www.babycenter.com/0_milestone-chart-1-to-6-months_1496585.bc
Ugh. This. Thanks ladies... I thought they were way off.
