North Dakota Babies

Appointment today

It was fine, I suppose. I was totally annoyed the whole time, which was a bummer. I'm glad it was a CNP that I likely won't see but maybe once more in my appointment schedule. She flew through the u/s faster than I could even see and told me I was measuring 3 days behind my LMP and that was kind of a problem at this point, when everyone measures "pretty much the same". She wouldn't listen to me when I kept saying I knew when I ovulated at LMP doesn't matter to me...she wanted to be a downer. But baby measured exactly where I thought, 8w3d, and we saw the heartbeat again, so I'm just going to ignore her negativity.

She was also surprised we couldn't hear the hb on the doppler (um, hello?! 8w3d, lady, I don't care if you think we "should" hear it because I'm "little")

I ended up only asking her 1 question the entire damn time, which was to check on my ovarian cyst since I've been in pain, and she never did because she didn't feel like doing an internal...so glad I won't be having many more conversations with her. I love my doctor so much more.

ETA: Thanks for the texts this morning, they made my day a little brighter Smile

Re: Appointment today

  • I'm sorry the CNP sucked, but yay for hearing the heartbeat & (quickly) seeing the LO. So glad things are going well!!!

  • Ignore that biitch.  She sucks.  At least you'll get to see you doc at your next appt.  Yay for seeing baby though!
  • I'm sorry about the cranky CNP, but congarts on everything going so well.  I'm glad you got to see the LO and the heartbeat!
  • I'm sorry the CNP was rude. That's great that everything is looking good!
    Anniversary
  • I'm sorry she was so rude, can you request for another one next time? Glad to hear everything is looking good and very cool to hear the heart beat

  • Wow she sounds like she needs a new job. I can't believe she would be so negative about it. I measured a week behind at my u/s at 7.5 weeks and they weren't negative about it at all. They just assumed I didn't really know when I O'd or my LMP (even know I knew exactly). I can't believe she even tried the Doppler that early! What if you didn't know all the info that you do, she would have totally freeked a person out. I hope you don't have to see her again. (((hugs)))

  • I'm sorry, Laura!  That doppler situation is crazy!  Despite my request, my OB wouldn't even attempt to use a doppler at 9.5 weeks because he said that he doesn't like to upset mommies-to-be when they can't find it that early.

  • Despite your snarky CNP, sounds like everything else was good!  Yay!!
  • Wow, wonder what was up her butt....ignore her. If you know when you O'd and the baby is measuring what you know it should be then don't worry. I also can't believe she wouldn't check on your cyst b/c she didn't "feel" like it, real nice quality of care. Hopefully you won't have to see her again!

  • Wow, I'm sorry.  I would definitely call the office to complain about her, and request that you don't see her again.  How awful.

My OB wouldn't even try the doppler @ my 9w appointment.
