Pregnant after a Loss

This is going to make me sound like a loon but...

I want morning sickness. Seriously. I want to puke just once. With my last pregnancy I didn't have any m/s and right around the time I started to wonder why, I had the m/c.

I know you can have m/s and still have a m/c but if I could puke just one time, it would set my mind at ease like you wouldn't believe.

I know this is completely irrational and crazy...

  • I understand how you feel. I just felt safer having horrible m/s. Now I wish it would just go away for good, but it is very reassuring.

You're still early. I don't think most m/s starts until 6 weeks or so. Just wait you'll be puking in no time!

  • Not crazy, but I hope if you do have it, it's over quick.

That reassurance pales pretty quickly when you're throwing up four times a day or so.

I'm sure if I do get it I'll be like "Ok Universe, you showed me. Time for the puking to stop now."

But for now, I just want to puke just once.

  • I didn't have any nausea until last week at 6 weeks and then it hit me like a train.  You may just be a little too early for it yet.  (This sounds so odd) Here's hoping you get nausea or m/s soon!

Thank you! I am nauseous every once in a while but what I really want it to puke. If I told this to anyone IRL, they would probably have me committed. LOL

  • Though it maybe irrational, you're totally normal for being PgAL. I hope you get the reassurance you're looking for but know that even if you do, you will still be scared.

Try to remember that no puking does not = healthy baby. I was puking up to and including the morning I had my D&C. This pregnancy, I puked a bit, but never as consistently as with the pregnancy I lost.

Hang in there, you're still very early. MS sometimes doesn't kick in until 8 weeks!

This is what happened to me. I was about 7 weeks when mine hit. Then it got to the point to where I was getting dehydrated and not keeping anything down....ever. Those weeks are a blur because I was so sick.

I understand the need for assurance, but I really hope you don't get it. Maybe you can just get the swollen boobage to make up for it.

  • I never had any m/s...drove me crazy but after seeing one of my friends having to depend on zofran...and still puking..I'm greatful I didn't get it.

I totally get it though...I kept waiting for sore boobs and that took a lot longer than the previous 2.

  • As one who is on Zofran and still has horrible m/s, I hope you do not have to deal with it. HOWEVER, I hope you get the reassurance you're looking for. I was like you at first as nothing hit until 6 weeks this time around. Now I'm wishing it away. Good luck!

  • I know what you mean. I think all of us PGAL ladies beg for some really convincing symptoms in the beginning. I have horrible nausea right now, and sometimes I'd wish I'd puke just for relief. It feels like a good puke would help, but I know it probably won't, so I'll be thankful that I'm not to that point (yet anyway). But the nausea is bad enough for it to feel real for me. I hope you get what you need to relax soon.

  • i know how you feel, but that said, I've been blessed with very little m/s this pg until this week. and it's been a biotch and I haven't even puked. just been so queasy it's impossible to focus on anything. queasy and hungry at same time is not fun.

    No lie.

I had mild m/s and kept wishing for it to get worse.  Now I'm 36w4d (holy cow!) and now I can honestly say that barfing every time you brush your teeth for 32 weeks sucks.

  • My best friend was never once nauseous during her whole pregnancy, and she has a beautifully healthy baby girl due next week.

Maybe the same will happen for you! Good luck!!!

This.  I was excited for a few days, and now it can leave.  Mine started right before 6 weeks, so you still have plenty of time.  GL!
