LO having nightmares :(

Last night about an hour and a half after Ethan went to bed I heard him let out a blood curdling scream, I click on the video monitor and he is crying and swatting at the air with his eyes closed, after about a minute he stops rolls over, wimpers a couple of times and is fine.

Does your LO have nightmares like this? What do you think causes nightmares for a 10 month old?

Re: LO having nightmares :(

  • DD had a nightmare like that a few weeks ago.  I talked to her calmly, which seemed to help and then she stopped screaming.

  • Could it be teething?  Kaitlyn does this for a couple nights in a row and then a tooth pops through.
  • DS hasn't done this, but almost every night for the past week he's been waking up at about 3am crying.  It's a different cry...not his normal "come get me/I got in trouble/I hurt myself" cry, but more of a whimper.  It's so sad, but usually by the time I get out of my fog, look at the monitor and think about getting up he's rolled over and is back asleep.

    Strange...

it is a possibility, he only has one tooth that popped through about a week ago, I will have to feel his gums tonight :)

  • My LO has night terrors - the blood curdling screams, frantic flailing of limbs - but we can't wake her up at first. It goes on for several minutes while I or DH try to sooth her but it takes so long for her to wake up. It's awful.
