Would you recommend your crib? Which one do you have?
Did you have to have it special ordered or did you pick it up the same day?
Would you use a "used" crib from a friend if there were no recalls and it was top of the line?
Anything else you want to add ![]()
Thanks in advance,

Re: Let's Talk Cribs ....
Yes I would recommend mine. I have a Baby Italia Eastside in Cherry from Babies R Us. I love it!
It was ordered. They do have them in the store, but I got mine on Black Friday so we had to get it from the warehouse.
I personally would not use a used crib, but that's just my personal comfort level. I know people who have and it's fine. I wanted something new, with matching dresser & chest of drawers for Gabriel to use for the rest of his life. It just depends on your personal comfort level.
Definitely check out the Baby Bargains book. They have a lot of recommendations and advice. I think it will help you not just with cribs, but with other baby purchases as well.

Thank You!!! I will have to defintely check out that book
P.S. Gabriel is just so darn cute ..the most adorable pumpkin!!
I just ordered the Graco Lauren from BRU (6 weeks ago and it's finally here!) Target also sells it online (I think they have the brown one in store) and had a special a couple months ago where you got the matching changing table for free, but they had sold out by the time I went to order it. I haven't actually picked it up from the store yet, so I can't really comment on it.
I was told that it would be in 1-2 weeks from the day I ordered it and they (BRU) would call me. Well 6 weeks later and several phone calls by me (never them) apparently it's at their store ready to be picked up. Good thing I don't need the crib until January...
Cribs and car seats are the two things that the Baby Bargains book says not to buy used. However, if the crib is from a friend and you know there's no recalls or that the crib isn't 25 years old and painted with lead paint, it's probably fine. I would feel better getting it from a friend than a garage sale or consignment shop. I think it's whatever you are comfortable with.
Thank you
We think he's pretty cute too

Thank you awesome advice
Congrat's on your crib finally arriving ....
The crib is from a great friend and it's only two years old ...they spent a lot of money on it and aren't having more children for awhile so they said I can have it ......I didn't even ask she just said oh I have a crib for you .....so if I can find matching furniture I might consider it as long as there continues tto be no recalls.
P.S. I agree personally I wouldn't take a used crib from someone I didn't know but that is just my own opinion.
I was going to ask something similar
I got my DD's crib from my Mom's neighbor. She coslept so it actually never got used by her kid. She gave it to me and it was fine, but its drop side and I have zero documentation on it. So with all the hoopla with the drop side cribs I want to get a new one for this baby.
I do not plan to get a convertible crib for this kid since my DD has a twin bed. I plan to just get a basic crib. Don't need to pay extra for features I won't use. I already have furniture so I'd need to find one that will match or at least coordinate.
Anyone know if BRU is doing their trade in again? DH wouldn't do it in September because I wasn't KU yet and he didn't want to jinx it. Or does BBB do something similar?

My crib and entire nursery set is from my SIL. I would just make sure it comes w/ instructions and that none of the screws that keep it together are stripped. The crib you're getting is not that old, so I would think it's fine. Since it's only 2 years old you should be able to find furniture to match.
I love our crib, the Graco Lauren we ordered through Walmart, site to store free shipping. At that time, it was $125 and you got a free $10 eGiftcard with it...a great deal and much cheaper than anywhere else at that time. It is a VERY nice crib and coverts to a toddler and full size bed. DH put it together in no time and it's very secure and sturdy.
Personally, I would not be comfortable with a second-hand crib, mattress or car seat.
And Baby Bargains is a great book!
