Re: Asked alot but, double stroller recs needed

  • We went with the Phil & Ted Sport.  I didn't want a double wide or double long due to making it more difficult to maneuver. I also wanted something that wouldn't take up our entire trunk. I'm so glad that I made the decision that I did.

During the first 3 months it was great because we used it in the toddler/infant set up and almost no one noticed that we had a newborn in the stroller.  Given that it was cold & flu season, it kept strangers hands and faces away from our LO.  Once we had it in the toddler/toddler set-up, it's been great and so easy to get out and do things.  We've taken it virtually every and it handles like a dream.  We even run with it (the front wheel locks so that it can be a jogging stroller).  It folds up with a fairly small footprint (only takes up half of our trunk - we have a Honda Fit) and I love that if we don't need the double stroller, we just dont attach the doubler and we still have a great & useful stroller.  I know some people don't like the set-up of the "double decker" but our children have no problem with it and if the children are in it from the beginning (the lighter child always goes on the bottom), they never know any different.

  • Side by side, bc my kids are long and I didn't want them to kick each other if it was tandem.

Bumbleride Indie Twin, bc I walk a lot and it pushes really smooth.

  • I bought a tandem first and ended up not really liking it because the kid way up in the front was too far for me to hear and see. I'd need to stop the stroller and walk up to him and give him a snack or whatever. It is also harder to maneuver in stores than a side by side...since it is so long you can make tight corners like you can with a SbS.

I have the Indie Twin b/c we use it a lot, on all kinds of terrain - so the inflatable wheels are a MUST - and they make the ride soooooo much better.

I resisted spending the money for a looong time - I thought all the girls here were craaaazy and/or rich. But we used part of our tax return on it and it was the best thing we ever bought.

  • I just bought a Graco Duoglide at a garage sale and I like it a lot.  It's pretty light (lighter than the stroller that came with my travel system) and moves fairly well.  But mostly I liked the price of $35.  Strollers are such a personal thing.  You need to think about how you will use it and what features you want and are willing to pay for.  Good luck!
  • We just bought the Britax B Ready. We picked it because we wanted something relatively compact (we live in a big metro area that us pretty crowded) and adaptable to a single or double. We liked it better than the Phil and Ted and the City Select because my 2 yr old is big and didn't fit well in those strollers.
  • We have the City Select and I LOVE it. I love that it can be a single or double which helps since sometimes I don't have DS1 with me or I wear DS2 and put DS1 in the stroller with just one seat. It has so many configurations and really handles well. We've used it a lot. Another reason we picked this one over the B Ready is that both seats hold a higher weight and both kids can see if they are both in the seats since one seat sits up a little higher.

I also have double bob for walking and once I get the okay I'll start running again with it. It's a beast through and there is no way I could ever use it day to day. It's way harder to put in my suv and I don't see it ever being easy to use indoors.
