Maternity Clothes

Hi I'm just reaching the point where I need to start buying maternity clothes and I really don't want to go out and break the bank to buy new clothes. Does anyone know where I can find some gently used clothes besides craigslist or ebay?

Re: Maternity Clothes

  • I went to Bellies to Babies in Richfield.  I got 2 pairs of jeans, a pair of shorts, and a long sleeve shirt for $40.  Hope this helps!

Go Check this place out it's a MUST GO

  • I believe there is another maternity consignment called Nine in Hopkins on Main St. It's right beside Baby on Grand. I'd highly recommend a Bella Band. I was able to wear many of my pants (especially black pants with a black Bella band) many months into my pregnancy with the Bella Band. You can buy one at Target or Motherhood Maternity. I found a few things at Target- jeans and a couple shirts- and then I bought a lot of sweaters that were open front cardigans that I could wear when I wasn't pregnant too. Good luck!

I was just going to mention this.  It recently opened up and I haven't been inside, but I peeked in the window and it looks decent.  They also have a pretty good selection at Clothes Mentor.  I know there one next to the Once Upon a Child near Ridgedale.  I think there might be some other locations around the cities, but I'm not sure.

Nine was a great place to shop at. Plus if the clothes have been there for a long time they will give you a discount depending on when they came in. Plus if you stop into Baby Grand when you first walk in on the left hand side they will sometimes have 15% off coupon for Nine.

  • Here is what I have been doing:

I was wearing a Bella Band from target until about a month ago and I had to stop wearing all my pre-pregnancy pants because they hurt too bad. It was a life saver up until that point.

I have found that most shirts are so long and stretchy now that I haven't spent hardly anything on tops.

Pants is where I have spent some money. I went to Bellies to Babies in Richfield. I was able to get 2 pair of jeans- one pair is a bit too short now that my belly is bigger- it makes me look like I have highwaters on and 3 tops for about 30.00. I really didn't find a ton of super cute stuff there, but I am not going for fashionable/cute right now. I just wanted something cheap to get me by.  I also got a pair of maternity jeans from target and they are super comfy. I really like them a lot. Definitely more stylish than the used jeans I got.

Also check out Motherhood Maternity- their pants are reasonably priced- I am headed there this weekend to get a pair of dress pants.

  • I got some things at Bellies to Babies in Richfield.  For work pants, I like the ones I got at Motherhood Maternity.  I also found some cute things at Clothes Mentor in Edina (76th St and France); all of the maternity I found there seemed very up to date.  They even had a formal dress I needed for an event that I got for $25.
  • I agree with all the PP. I also made sure I would check out the clearance racks at Target, Kohl's (and then use at least a 15% off coupon), Sears and Old Navy.
  • I have a Bella Band for sale that's in excellent condition.  I also have two pair of pants left that I'm selling.  They are from A Pea in the Pod, in great condition, size small.  Let me know if you're interested!

  • I have had luck with clearance at Kohls and Old Navy in MOA(not all old navy stores carry maternity) I have found a few things semi-cheap at motherhood, they have a sale rack too! I have been to Clothes Mentor there are a few locations, I've been to the Burnsville location and got a couple shirts for dirt cheap($6 shirt, $4 for a pair of pants). Only thing is you gotta dig dig dig lol!

  • I'm in the same boat. This last weekend my husband and I went to all of the stores in the *** Rapids area that would have maternity clothes and I was able to find one pair that actually fit me at Motherhood. I love them and will have to go back and get another pair because they're fantastic. They cost $35 I believe but for how much wear they will get over the next few months that will be worth it.
