This baby had better be a boy... (vent)

Because if it is a girl the poor thing will never have a name. DH and I can not agree on anything. The only thing we know it that her middle name will be Alyn, (pronounced like Alan or A-lyn depending). Its a family name for my family and since we used family names for my son from his side i am being picky about it.

The only names he LOVES is Bristol or Chrystal. I really really really don't like either of them.

I LOVE the name Noelle, Elizabeth or Isabella because I really like the nick name Elle. He doesn't like them. Grrr. I do not want to be one of those women who demand a certain name, and i am sure we will eventually come to an agreement on SOMETHING if we have too, because i really want us to both like the name since she will be stuck with it forever.

We had agreed on the name Miranda, but he remember its a second cousins name... ::head desk:: So hopefully this little Bean is Lukas Christopher and not the unnamed girl.

(I really truly don't care what Bean is, I am just frustrated about something that is so trivial and stupid, but I am still letting it annoy me)

  • I feel ya. We are having a hard time on girl names. We have Clayton Keith for a boy, though that isn't concrete for me. We have a middle name for a girl. It will be Elizabeth because that is my middle name and I have always loved my whole name, sounds a little vain I know. I don't go by either name really, but a shortened version of my middle name. I am seriously thinking about naming her the same as me and calling her something else. Laura Elizabeth and calling her Laura Beth.

Oh, no.  You need to put a stop to this nonsense right now.  Does he think you're having a baby in the 1980s?

  • I am the complete opposite. Me and DH both like our girl names Isabella Elizabeth or Emily Elizabeth. But we cannot come up with a boy name we both like. I like Christopher Michael and he likes Sean or Jason Michael. So mine better be a girl or he will have no name!

  • Aw, Heather! You'll think of something! We're freaking out because we still can't come up with any boys names, so I feel your pain!

  • We are in the same exact boat.  Christian Ashby for a boy and absolutely nothing for a girl.  I really really like Laura Beth....I might have to steal that :) My name is Elizabeth and my dd is Summer Elizabeth so it would be cute to have Laura Elizabeth and call her Laura Beth.
  • Haha, the opposite for us.  Girl names are much easier than boys!

  • yeah if we have a boy we are screwed as well. no name ideas nor agreements on anything.  the girl name was so easy, i told him my favorite, explained how i thought it fit us and whatnot,he said it a few times and said i like ithahaha. why can'tboys be that easy?

  • Same for us, I want to name a girl after my Great grandmother, in honor of my Grandpa that passed this summer, (lillie alice) but DH doesn't like it. On the other hand, we had a boy name picked out before we conceived, heck, I think we had it picked out in our minds before we met.
  • Same with us....

Before getting pg we were set on a girl name and couldn't decide on a boy name... now that we're actually having a baby, we have decided on a boy name but can't agree/decide on a girl name.... What the heck... but we did decide not to really "stress" about this until we find out the gender.

  • My SO and I can't agree on a name AT ALL! Every name I say he shuts it down for a petty reason and won't even give me ideas. Blah

  • We're stuck on boy names.  I hope ours is a girl just so we can avoid having to choose a boy name!

  • me and Dh cant pick anything.... girl or boy. we used to love Adriana grace (ana grace) but now its fading, and we love Desmond (desmond alexander with DAX as nick name)  but people cringe when we say it.

I hate the thought of people hating my kids name!

so my baby is going to be named BABY at this point

sorrry but, CRYSTAL- is a STRIPPER name, and spelled like that is even worse!

also stripper names- brandy, candy, amber, summer, tiffany, diamond etc.

  • Yup. Me too.

We have our first four sons named. Girl names....nothing. I have a ton of girl names that I love but DH hates all of them. He doesn't offer any suggestions either. I literally read him the entire list of the Social Security's top 100 baby names and he didn't like ONE of them.

  • Hahah we haven't started talking about names at all yet.  We usually don't until we know the sex of the baby.

He has had his heart set on Colin James for a boy since I was pregnant with DD#1.  But, the more I think about it...it really doesn't go with our last name. Our last name ends with -mann.

  • We also have four boys names in our list and no girls names that stick. I find it even harder, because if they are 2 boys, 2 girls or BG twins, I want the names to sound good together but not be so matchy. My DH likes rhyming names, like Ella and Bella. Er, no.

  • LOL, we're the opposite.  We have agreed on SEVERAL girl names, but we can't agree on a single boy name.  If we end up having twin boys, we're screwed!

  • I Love the name Chrystal, after all its my name, same spelling and all....the only thing is that in my country Trinidad its way to common now.
