DS just turned 2 in September. He probably says somewhere around 100+ words, but doesn't string any together. If he's repeating something I just said, he'll said the last word of what I said, or he'll combine words. For example, he'll say mere (come here) and min (come in). Is this normal for his age?

Re: 2 year old not stringing words together
At DS' 2 yr. check-up, Dr. asked if he was saying 2 word sentences. He was barely doing it then. He had just started talking more at the end of August. Now he says 2 word sentences all the time and once in a while he will say a 3 word sentence. He repeats EVERYTHING he hears right now. It was just like all of a sudden that he started talking too (back in August).
If I were you I don't think I would be worried just yet. Give him some more time. If he isn't saying 2 word sentences by 2 1/2 then I would be worried.
I know that the checklist for 3 years old for my Dr said 3 word sentences at 3 years old.
at ds's 2 year well baby he had maybe 25 words TOTAL. Since then (8/16) There isn't anything he does not say. he strings 2 and 3 words together, it was literally like overnight!
Give him a few months, I think he'll be doing it very very soon!!
at 2 ds would say love you, thats mine, goodbye, hi mumma...things like that (he also spoke hundreds of words). my pedi said if by 2.5 he wasnt using sentences (of at least 3 words) that we would consult with EI.
about a month or two after his birthday, out of NO where, he started talking in sentences. he is now 32 months and his vocabulary and speech is amazing!!
give it time..they really do just explode all at once!
Boys tend to be a little slower then girls. I certainly wouldn't worry right now. If he's still not getting it in the next 6 months give a call.
DS started putting 2 words together a couple of months after his bday out of nowhere.
