So I have pcos and no MFI so we have done 2 cycle with menapur with TI. But people recommended doing the IUI on here and my RE is ok with it so we are going to do it. So tell me about IUI. Is it painful? How long do you have to lay there afterwards? do you have to take the rest of the day off etc? Does anyone know how much this increases the chances from just using injectables if you don't have MFI. Any info is greatly appreciated. TIA!!
TTC since 6/09 with PCOS
No response to femara
4 cycles of injectibles+IUI=BFN
IVF#1= started stims on 2/4
Likely ER on 2/16 and hopefully 5dt
Re: talk to me about IUI
Is it painful? The 6 I have been through were not painful, but I have read some ladies do experience a little cramping during/after
How long do you have to lay there afterwards? Around 15 minutes
Do you have to take the rest of the day off? No, not at all
Does anyone know how much this increases the chances from just using injectables if you don't have MFI? Not sure if I'm giving the answer you are looking for, but as far as success rates, using clomid w/IUI has a 10% of working and using injectable drugs w/IUI has 20% of working
Good luck with your IUI!!!!

I've had 1 so far and it wasn't painful at all. Just like a Pap as PP stated.
I laid there for 5 minutes.
Not sure about the % but an IUI is more advantageous as compared to TI because you're by passing the cervix and putting the sperm directly in the uterine area. In other words, closer to the egg/prize!
They aren't painful but a little uncomfortable and are over quick. I googled success rates and with fsh injectables and IUI upped your chances by 12%. But it probably depends more on the diagnosis so you might ask your RE.
I went back to work right after my IUI and I work with kids so I am fairly active. I havent had any cramping after either of my IUIs.
Good luck!
1. no pain. I have had some slight cramping this time around.
2. 10 minutes. they set a timer for me.
3. No, I come to work
4. I am not sure. We dont have MFI and have done injectables for all 3 of ours.
