Infertility

New and looking for a glossary...

Hi All,

Just wanted to say hello.

I am new to the bump. Was all over the knot when I was planning my wedding so I thought I would turn here for questions/support/help, etc.

The hubby and I have have been TTC for a little over a year and because of our age and my irregular cycles, we have been referred to an infertility clinic. They currently can't figure out the problem, but think that's it's me. I felt a huge change in my body about 5 years ago and I am pretty sure it's connected to my infertility. My doctors never seemed too concerned so either was I, until now. We've done blood work, HSG, semen analysis (all appearing ok). We are on our 3rd round of Clomid this month.

Was wondering if there is a place I can find a glossary of sorts for all the acronyms I see around here? Some I can make out, but others, I have no idea about.

Also, anyone else on Clomid? 3rd cycle?

  • Welcome and good luck!

There is a glossary at the lower left panel, and an unofficial one here.

  • LOL!  I know what you mean!  I've picked up a few but I'm new too!   DH=Dear Husband; BFN=Big Fat Negative; BFP=Big Fat Possitive; POAS=Pee on a Stick.  That's really all I know.

     Welcome!

  • welcome and I'm sorry you have to be on this board. I hope your stay is short.

here is the link to the glossary,  you can also find it on the bottom left hand column on this page.  Some of the things used on this board are not on this glossary, but don't be afraid to ask what they mean.  it took me weeks to figure out what they meant (and sometimes I still have to think about them).

No experience with Clomid, but good luck!
