update on DS

We're home!

Eli did really well.  The dr was able to do what he thought...no crowns just tooth colored fillings.  He had to extract 2 teeth and put spacers in which is what I was expecting.

Eli did well beforehand but had a bit of a hard time coming out of anesthia. He was crying a good bit when we got back to be with him and wanted the IV out.  Luckily he drank quickly and peed so he didnt have to have it in long which also meant we could come home.  All of the staff was so caring and compassionate.

Now it's a week of soft foods and some relaxing.  I can't even expess how happy I am to have this over with.  It is such a huge weight lifted.  Thank you so much ladies for your support and prayers.

  • I just saw your original post. I'm glad it went so well.

FWIW, I have horrible teeth and have since I was little. It can be hereditary, even if you and your husband don't have bad teeth. I had my first crown on a baby molar. I will say that having had a great pediatric dentist has left me with absolutely no fear of the dentist. In fact, quite the opposite. I find it really relaxing to go to the dentist and would go more often if I could!

Bless you!  That is so reassuring to hear.  You have no idea.  It is costing us a small fortune to go about things this way and have him see this pediatric dentist but I'm hoping the end result is the same for him...to have great care and not have a life long fear of the dentist.

I'm glad I could reassure you some. I hope you guys have an easy week and no more dentist visits for a while. :)
