Soreness below ribs?

Ok, so I thought maybe it was just pressure from my massive belly but now I'm not so sure.  Its really only on the right side, just below my ribcage.  Its a soreness and sometimes kind of a burning sensation.  Mostly just uncomfortable, not painful.

Does anyone else have this?  Or does anyone have any clue what it could be about?  I have a dr appt tomorrow and plan on bringing it up just in case.

TIA!

Re: Soreness below ribs?

  • could it be your LOs feet in your rib cage? I hope it feels better! Do you possibly get the bedrest verdict tomorrow? GL hun!

Ahhhh I wish- our LO is breech right now, so feet are happily kicking away at my cervix all the time.  haha  =]

And I actually got a call from my dr last night and she said I won't have to go on bedrest but I should talk with HR to see what my options are for short term disability leave.  So thats my plan for today.  Then tomorrow I'll get some kind of note from her saying that I need to alter my work schedule or something like that.  Looking forward to a break from the stress here at work.

    Thanks!

  • Hey lady! Sorry you having a wierd pain. I've decided I am just going to have to deal with the fact that I will be living in pain for the next 3 months. I have a pain right in the middle of my tummy, at the top near my breast bone. It's been there for 2 days and subsides a little depending on if I'm sitting, standing, leaning, bending, etc.

It sucks. I told DH this morning that this is just going to suck for the next few months so I'm going to have to figure out a way to deal with it and move on!

Yes, Dr Marvin.  =D  I really like her, too.  Although they're all really great over there!  On Thursday I see Dr Veltcamp, I really like her, too.  At first I wasn't psyched about having to see all four of the women there, but they're all so great and I'm just glad I can kind of get to know them and vice versa before the big day.  =]

  • YES I have this pain.  I actually started having pain in my left and right rib cage every now and again from LO hanging out in my ribs.  But then I began having this pulling & burning pain on my right side near my rib cage but not actually on or near my rib cage...more like right next to it and it is a completly different pain than from when LO is hanging out in my ribcage. I asked my OB about it and she said it's a very common thrid tri pain and it's from the pulling and streching from your nerves in that area and told me that the good news is that it will go away once the baby is born (great).  I went out and bought a maternity support band.  It doesn't take the pain away completly but it does ease the pain a lot.  It's much more bearable with the maternity support band and I can now actually do things around the house without wanting to cry.

  • Another theory to throw in there is gas pains/movement. Your intestines are smooshed under there these days. I ended up with pain under my right ribs so terrible that we ended up in L&D and the health-line thought it could be my gallbladder. It turned out to be  trapped gas. Embarrassed I now take extra fiber and stool softeners. I had no clue that gas could feel that that and up there!
