DS's hair was auburn/red when he was born but now it's gone a more blond colour. And yes, people would point out the hair colour a lot for some reason. Strangers I think like to point out obvious things with kids/babies, maybe a way to strike up a conversation and look at the cute baby? I dunno.
Now random people are always pointing out how "big" DS is. He's 15 months, but its 33" tall..so I guess kinda big for his age
DD's hair is auburn...and occasionally with the right light it looks slightly red. But everyone thinks its full blown red...! People are weird. They will say, "OMG where did that red hair come from?" My husband and I always look at each other like....it's not really that red...more auburn......but whatever!
DS has reddish hair and we mostly get comments from older ladies. They say they wish their hair were that color and then ask if they can take him to their next appointment with their stylist.

Lol!
We get the "woah, where did the red hair come from" question a lot too. I think I was just a little surprised at how often people simple say "she has red hair!" um yes, yes she does.

You should answer "Target" lol!
My nephew has red hair and when someone asked him where he got it, his response was "Walmart". He was about 3 or 4 at the time.
My DD has red hair and someone always makes a comment. I mostly get oh your husband must have red hair, i'm always like no, both grandpa's have red hair. i think people comment because its not a common color you see all the time.
Oh yes! Luckily I'm semi-used to it since I have red hair. Even though it's obvious where DD's hair comes from, we still get the always original "Whoa, look at that red hair!" And yes it is mostly old ladies... what's up with that?

Mfranny it's because your princess is so gorgeous. Her hair is striking and demands comments.
Btw, did you know that she has red hair?
This is my most favorite comment ever. I'd like to pay you to follow PPP and I around and compliment us all day. Do you accept halloween candy and/or persimmons?
Yes...we always get comments...usually they tell us how pretty her hair/she is. It's a strawberry blonde color...I'm not sure that it will stay though..who knows...
ETA: I think many people comment on it because I don't have red hair and neither does DH....the only person with red hair in my family is my grandma (Lilly's great grandma).

Yes, and I think it's because it is so beautiful - I would kill for that hair color, and also because neither my husband nor I has red hair so it's kinda weird. Hope he keeps it though!

My dad used to work for a local milk company and once when a waitress asked where her's came from (she was around 4) she shouted "from the MILKMAN".
We died.
And I just came to gawk at the babies. I was hoping JTD's would stay reddish but it's turning blonder every day.
Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
every single time we go out someone comments on her red hair just like her mommy. And now people are starting to comment on her freckles too. I used to talk to people about her red hair. Now I just smile and nod.
Alannah is a strawberry blonde. But yes, we hear "her hair is kinda red, isn't it?" a lot! Then those that know her comment on the degree of redness from day to day, such as "her hair is looking extra red today!"
I am not a mother of a redhead.... I AM a redhead.... and not only did people ALWAYS comment about my hair when I was little, they still continue to do so now!!! at least they are nice comments... if anything your LO will be embarrassed by it when they're young and be flattered (and still embarrassed lol) when they're older.
Yes, Constantly! They're always asking "where did he get that red hair?" (dh and i have much more dark brown hair), ect. One lady told us on vacation "I tried 5 times to have a redhead!"

I have red hair. My dad's hair is black, and my mom's is dark brown. People used to make annoying comments to my mom all of the time. DD has strawberry blonde hair (all 4 strands of it:). Everyone is convinced it will be dark red like mine, but I doubt it. Still, any time I put a picture up on facebook, people are all "Oh my God, it's totally red...". It's odd.
Re: Moms of redheads...come on in!
yep! even though it is starting to turn more into a strawberry blonde, people always say he has the prettiest hair color.

wow. mega hiccup there.
I meant to say he does have pretty hair!
thanks! so does your DD! I love red hair and have always colored mine. I prayed that DS would get DH's red hair ... lol!
