Ok, I've had 2 C-Sections. DS #1 just didn't drop down at all after being induced and then started to have distress/heart rate drops during my contractions so they did emergency C-S. That sucked.
DS #2 - my hospital here does not do VBAC so it was a scheduled CS. Pretty amazing on how I felt for this one.
DS #3 on the way. I am not positive this is our last kid. They say C/S get harder and harder and some don't even recommend going past 3.
The hospital where I am currently going is within walking distance to my house - which is nice for taking care of dogs, getting to hospital in emergencies in the Wisconsin winter.
A hospital about 45 minutes away (in good weather) will at least consult me on a VBAMC...but I'd need to switch dr's and of course it's no guarantee that I'd be successful. It'd be nice to avoid surgery if I can.
Blah. Thoughts?
Re: WWYD - VBAMC or RCS Help!
This.
ACOG supports VBA2C, if I'm not mistaken. I'd go for it if you feel comfortable with the other doctor.
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
Yeah, I guess one of my problems is I don't know any of the other doctors, and don't know anyone in that town to get recommendations. All I know is they do VBACs there. Hmm.
Yay! I just scheduled a consult with a dr who does VBAC/VBAMC...
It's next week so we'll see what they think about my chart.
My SIL is a obygn dr and she warned me that after a 3rd c/s statistics became hairer and hairer for the c/s. If you want more children, I'd definitely keep your options open.
Don't scare yourself online though. There are some scary m c/s stories.
