Which brand disposable diapers and wipes?

I need to put DS in disposables for a few weeks soon.  I'm ordering from amazon so they'll be at my mom's when we get there.  What brand is best?  I'd like to switch to a more EF version.

  • We had good luck with 7th gen.

  • I LOVE the fisher price diapers.

If you have the amazon mom membership, they're pretty cheap. They're pretty cheap without, but even better with. I love that the box comes with both day and night diapers.

I do have the amazon mom membership!  I'm loving the free shipping :-).

  • I've used both 7th Gen and Earth's Best. I liked 7th Gen better in the smaller sizes but Earth's Best better now. I think they're both excellent choices though.
  • What about wipes?  I don't think I've ever tried any wipes other than Huggies, Pampers, and Up & Up.  Out of those, I prefer Huggies.

  • We like the 7th gen.  They have always worked at night for us too.

  • I LOOOVE Costco wipes, but of course you can't get those on Amazon.

We love these because you can also flush them. (We use them for diaper changes)

  • When I asked this, a lot of people seemed to like Tushies.  I did a little research, and they seem to be the most chem-free ones (though that makes them slightly less absorbent).  I've ordered one box for each age range, so I hope they're good!  ;)  We also went ahead and ordered one box of wipes from Tushies, one from Seventh Generation, and one from Earth's Best.  We'll see which is best!!  I *did* read that the box for one of them wasn't good.  I can't remember which it was, but you'll see it in the reviews.  So I bought a box of the one that got good reviews and then got refills of the other two brands!

Ditto amazon's Mom thing.  Another good deal is to use diapers.com if you never have because there's a 20% off coupon for first-timers.  That, combined with free shipping for larger orders, comes out to a really good deal! Google it if you're wanting to use this option (I forgot the code, but it's all over the 'net if you type "diapers.com coupon code.").

    Good luck!

  • For wipes I prefer Earth's Best hands down. Those and Costco (Kirkland brand) wipes. If I remember correctly you actually CAN buy Costco wipes on Amazon. Those two are the only ones I've tried that absolutely didn't smell. Earth's Best are a little softer and gentler but they're both great.

Are these less chemically? It seems like people complain that they're bulky which often translates that way. We currently have plain old Target brand since all we could find at our Target was Pampers, Huggies and their own brand. Nothing natural at all.

  • I like 7th generation, and if those aren't available, Huggies P&N (greenwashing, i know... but they don't stink like most other brands).

I do NOT like the 7th generation wipes though. I feel like it takes 10 wipes to do what 1-2 of the thick Pampers wipes will do. Which to me sorta negates any environmental benefit, and frankly I only use them on the go, and that's pretty infrequently.  I've been able to use coupons to get the small bags of Pampers wipes for free.

  • for the first 10 days of G's life we used earth's best diapers and really liked them. We use mostly 7th generation wipes but also earth's best once in a while. 7th generation wipes aren't super wet though so it might be better to go with earth's best.
  • Thanks everyone!  I ordered a box of Earth's Best diapers and a pack of their wipes.  If I run low, the local grocery store carries 7th Generation.  I just needed some waiting for us when we arrive.  Our flight gets in a little after 4:00, then we have over a two hour ride to my mom's.  I doubt I'll want to go to the grocery store after all of that!
