You've got a pound of 95% lean ground turkey- what do you make with it?

I need a recipe that DS can eat as well. Please help, I lost my creative cooking hat about 11 months ago! LOL!

  • I have this out for our dinner tonight!  I plan to make Burritos with black beans, yellow rice and the ground turkey.  Add some salsa, cheese and onions and voila. 30 min tops! Quinn will eat the mushed up black beans and yellow rice. HTHs!

  • That's easy...I make spaghetti (with whole wheat pasta), ground turkey and a jar of Prego. I'm simple like that Smile

Or, I'll cook it for taco meat and put it over lettuce w/ some shredded cheese and light sour cream & salas for the dressing. That's not really LO friendly though....

  • Stroganoff

    • 1 lb ground turkey (or beef)
    • 1 package egg noodles
    • 1/4 cup warm water
    • 1 packet beefy onion soup mix (I use Lipton)
    • 16 oz. containter light sour cream
    • 12 oz. package frozen baby peas (I use the steamer bags)

While boiling egg noodles and cooking peas in microwave, brown turkey in a skillet.  When turkey is cooked through, add soup packet and water; stir until combined.  Remove turkey from heat.  Drain egg noodles and return to pot over low heat.  Add turkey mixture and frozen peas to noodles.  Add container of sour cream to pot and stir to combine. Serve immediately.

  • Stuffed peppers!

cook it up with some garlic and onions then mix with some cooked rice, a can of diced tomatoes, some ketchup, some worsteshire and some basil, thyme and oregano.

Boil some bell peppers until they are soft then scoop the mix from above into them.  Top with cheese of some sort and bake in 350 for about 15 mins (or until cheese is melted)

    YUM!

  • Thank you for all of the ideas! I have been craving some lasagna and never thought to use the turkey burger in it! Thanks jonnygurl! I think I will simplify and make crockpot lasagna :)
