Say it ain't so! Teen Mom fake?

According to this article:https://www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/report-mtv%E2%80%99s-teen-moms-paid-65k-what-kind-of-message-does-it-send/?cmpid=fcst_tvnews, these guys make 65k a season. So why is Farrah crying about being broke etc? Makes you wonder if they are as normal and bad off as they seem...

    oh no! I refuse to believe it. I love those girls! and out of all of them, farrah is obviously the most financially-cushy.

     

    but then again... I wish I got paid 65k to be a mommy!!

    I figured they were getting paid something.  How else could Amber afford kick boxing classes & her other bills while only working part time?  Or how Maci was going to afford going to school while only working part time.  However, most of them don't seem to bright, so I'm sure that $65K isn't spent the most wisely.

    Ditto.  MTV would be doing the kids involved a real disservice if they didn't put quite a lot of that money in trusts for them.

    I most def believe that they get compensated for the show. However, you have to think about this one. All the moms are between the ages of 18-20. They are giving 65K to 19 year olds, what do you think most of them did with it? They blew it, because most 19 year olds don't know what to do with that kind of money.

    Also, have you seen the cars some of them drive? I'm pretty sure they didn't get those cars working part time.

     I was wondering how much they made  for being on that show. I dont really watch it, but I have heard alot about it.

    65k is alot of money. I used to make about 27-30k a year and that was a good amount of money for our area

    I definitely believe they are getting paid - I'm surprised it is only 65k!

    I'm sure that the first season, they got paid minimally (while on 16 and Pregnant) and were just excited to be on TV.

    But after that, I'd say it's a pretty sure bet professional representation (lawyers, agents, managers) were knocking at their door(s) - or they advised to seek it.

    I assumed they were getting paid - how else would Gary and Amber afford a FL vacation? How else would Macie get a new car? They all just seemed wayyyy too... "leisurely" and generally unworried about money.

    I think MTV might have a stipulation with them - that they can not flaunt their money on TV - that in order to keep the show as "true" to real life as possible, they can't spend extravagantly on TV... maybe they even tell them they cannot spend more than "X" amount while the show is in production? It might be in their contracts. I dunno, but that is my thought on it....

    Oh, and my thoughts regarding Farrah: I'm willing to bet her parents had something to do with her negotiations, and probably had it stipulated that the money she makes from the show is to go into a trust fund either for her, for Sophia, or for both of them. They just seem like the type of parents that would still be involved in their daughter's financial affairs.

    My DH and I discussed this too bc he noticed that they all have really nice cars.   He said he thinks MTV pays them.  I think MTV might not, to keep it real, and it's still the case that Tyler/Caitlin's mom and dads live in trailers (although maybe it's just bc Caitlin and Tyler don't share their $ with them) but they also do photo shoots, magazine interviews, etc.  They HAVE to get paid for that and that's not small money,.,

    I'm assuming they get some of the money and some after the contract is up. maybe they signed at 4 season deal and half the money up front and the rest when the last season happens. Then they prob will renew the contract for a new show cause they tech wont be teen moms anymore. maybe each will get their own show or something whos knows. but their apartments look really bare and i see ambers clothes are from walmart most of the time cause i have seen the miley cyrus collection there haha
