Desperate call for help?

Okay ladies! Can we please brain storm?

Luke is mostly happy and only fussy when hes wet or hungry.

He woke up this morning crying and hasent stopped. Its 10 30 pm. & because I know you will ask this one; he hasent pooped in two days but thats his normal. I cant figure out whats wrong.

We have tried burping him, messaging him, shooshing, vacumm, car rides, swings, bouncy seat, pnp, seahorse, crib, paci, holding him, bouncing him, singing to him, mylicon in his feed, and im sure more but im forgetting. DH is on his way to get baby tylonol to see if that will help? Any ideas at what could make a baby cry all day long? Help!!!

  • Did you take his temperature? Could he be in a growth spurt (is he clusterfeeding/sleeping longer stretches when he isn't crying?)

  • Not sure what is bothering him, but if you haven't done it yet, try giving him a bath.  That might calm him down.  I remember being in the same situation as you when DS#1 was little and the bath was the thing that did it.

    Good luck!

  • I took his temp and he doesnt have a fever. And yes, now that you mention it, he has been cluster feeding today. But sleeping...hes not doing any of that today for more then 15 minutes.

If he's cluster feeding and not sleeping, he could just be going through a growth spurt... I second PP, try giving him a warm bath??

ETA: Oh and did you try skin to skin or the colic hold??

  • poor little guy (and poor you!). I wish I had an answer. Baths help to calm DS and skin to skin often does too. Also try swaddling and jiggling him on his side -- thats what The Happiest Baby on the Block suggests and its the only thing that worked for DS tonight.
