I've never asked my pedi. Both my kids have gone out and about since we got home from the hospita (DS was a fall baby as well)l. I can't stay couped up for long! I just keep LO close (generally wearing her) and no one can touch or even really breath on them when they're snuggled up on your chest. I also have hand sanitizer in my diaper bag to use after pushing a shopping cart, touching door handles, etc and for others to use if they are going to touch/hold (obviously only if I know them).
i never asked my pedi. but right after we got out of the hospital with both my kids we started going out. i cant stay in the house all day long just because i have a baby...id go crazy.
Never asked. LO came out with us right away. The only place I didn't go to right away was the mall. We go to the mall together now, but I waited until she was about 2 months.
I never asked our doctor, but we took DS to my husband's work and to Target the day we got out of the hospital. We've also been out a couple of times since then.

Sleep with Jesus sweet baby.
We were out running errands a couple days after getting home (She was 6 days when we got home). I see no reason to stay in, just don't let anyone touch or get close to baby. I have a shower cap style car seat cover which I leave closed if ppl come close.
Today, I had to take her to O's halloween party at school. Now, that freaked me out a bit. But I didn't let anyone touch her!!!
We started taking DD out immediately. We got out of the hospital at noon and were in church at 6:30 that night. She went to several parties and out on errands from the very beginning.

We also never asked. DS has been going on errands with DH and I since he came home. He's been going with me on errands or something nearly everyday since DH went back to work 3 weeks ago.
We took Grace out immediately. We went to the store for formula and took a walk the day we came home. We haven't stopped since! She goes everywhere with us and will be 3 months on Saturday and has never been sick! I am sure taking her out right away is why.
SAHM to the sweetest little girl and boy... I love my job!
Ophelia was born in January. She was at the coffee shop with me on day 6. Day 5 (the day we came home from the hospital) she went out to dinner with us. Do what you are comfortable with but as long as you are keeping your LO warm and safe they will be fine. IMHO
I asked our Pedi at the 1 week appt and he looked at me like I was crazy, and was like...now. So ever since then we have been taking her all kinds of places. We just try to avoid crowds and places with lots of children.

Never asked the pedi. We started taking her out the day we left the hospital. I needed to convince myself it was possible and I thought taking the plunge was the best way to stay sane and feel like I could be somewhat "normal" with a baby. I ran my first errands alone with her at about 2 weeks. It was daunting. I feel like now, at about 5 weeks, I am just starting to feel really comfortable doing whatever needs to be done with her in tow. I'm a big fan of wearing her too. My hands are free and she is easier to soothe when I have her in a sling, and people don't get as close. I try to prevent people from touching her whenever possible and I avoid situations with a lot of kids. I'm waiting until after she has her shots to go to playgroups, etc.
With a husband who travels a lot for work (he just left this morning) and no family in town, right away. If I need something I have to take both girls out with me. It's not ideal but it's not like I'm letting the strangers in Target touch my new baby. She's covered up the entire time.

Mine was okay with it from the day we left the hospital - she just said to keep her covered, wash our hands, and not let strangers touch her.
We were out and about with both girls within a few days after they were born.
The only thing our pedi. suggested we wait on was something like air travel.
We had both girls out pretty immediately.
