this is our 4th and last baby and im really debating not finding out the sex... but we have 3 girls and would really like to see some blue in this house.... so i'm determined not to go the yellow route. Also although we have had 3 babies we have since got rid of anything pertaining to babies as we thought we were done

so i have to go out and buy everything... either way i want to be able to get very girly or very boy.... just curious if anyone is toying with the idea?
Re: Is anyone not finding out the sex?
We aren't finding out - Team Green (or yellow, or orange...)
This is our first though, so it's not so much about the stuff to get but about the surprise.
Well, people prepared for centuries without knowing! I can too!
We were team green with DD and green is my favorite color anyway, so I was attracted to all things green. We are team green with this one too. We already have a gender neutral room and some clothes. We will pick up more clothes if necessary when s/he arrives!

We're not finding out. I honestly don't understand when people say they can't prepare without knowing. We would prefer gender neutral gear anyway, in case the next baby is a different sex. And clothes can (and will) come after the baby is born. We'll have one outfit for each sex and plenty of white onesies. I'm not knocking finding out at all, because honestly, I'm a little sad that our anatomy scan is fast approaching and we could know but won't; I'm just saying you can prepare just fine without knowing pink or blue.

We actually have our big u/s tomorrow and we had started to question the choice not to find out, but we've decided to stand firm and wait until we meet baby!
This is our first and we're team green. I don't understand how people say they can't prepare without knowing either. That doesn't even make sense. I'm a huge planner, so everything will be done well ahead of time, but I just won't know if I'll be bringing home a little boy or a little girl.
I don't like most gender specific baby gear items, so even if I were to find out the gender, I'd be sticking with gender neutral stuff anyway. I also want to be able to use my baby gear with another baby someday.
I realize that my opinion on the matter is not a popular one, however. :-)
like others, I've never really understood this. I understand that some people prefer to know the sex of their baby, and that's awesome, more power to ya! But to me, knowing what color onesie to buy has so little to do with what's actually important. We prepared for Drew by getting finances in check, talking about our parenting styles, buying some essentials (crib, diapers, appropriate newborn clothes), taking a BFing class, lining up help for those first few weeks, and praying that somehow we'd figure out what the heck we were doing once LO arrived. that's the kind of preparation that was important to me.
I feel the same way about #2. The really important preparations have nothing to do with the color of the nursery. Oh and BTW we ended up with tons of blue clothes and trucks and other "boy" things anyway b/c people went crazy with gifts when he was born.
Again, for those people that choose to find out - that's great! I think if you want to find out - for any reason - you totally should. But don't worry too much that us team greeners aren't prepared - we'll be just fine. ;-)
I know it'll be hard to resist, but we are trying to stay team green. We plan on getting everything gender neutral for future babies, so that's not a problem.
We're finding out, just because I want to know. But I just wanted to point out that with my daughter, we found out. And yea, we bought girl clothes and I painted her room purple. But my pack and play, car seat, and stroller are blue. They didn't make pink big stuff like that back then, and I never really thought twice about what color it was. I picked the stroller and carseat I liked, and they happened to be blue and black.
I wouldn't decide to find out or not find out based on color choices. No one ever mistook my daughter for a boy in her blue carseat. (because she had bows in her hair.
haha.)
I'm just pointing that out.
Baby #4; 7/7/2018
We aren't finding out. We both agreed we wanted a surprise. We wanted to share that special moment when the Dr says "It's a XXX!".
However, this is our first as well.

I didnt find out with my first two and was on the fence with this one. I just want to know if its another girl before she is born. Emotionally its needed for me.
I dont care about shopping or preparing its the emotions I have to worry about.
We don't plan on finding out either. It's our first, and I just picture being in the delivery room and waiting for that moment when the doctor says "it's a ......". I can't imagine knowing ahead of time and taking away those feelings of suspense and excitement that I'm so looking forward to.
Also, I need some sort of motivation to push through labor! That will be it...finally finding out if it's a boy or girl.
We aren't going to find out. This is our first and we want to keep neutral gear for later babies. Even though people may not register for girl/boy colors if they do find out, I feel very confident that there are at least a few people who would buy cute clothes in that gender rather than a more practical gift.
And as an aunt, I found it to be much more exciting to be waiting at the hospital and anxiously awaiting to hear whether the baby was a girl or boy... I loved having the boy/ girl surprise with all of my nieces and nephews.
