Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

S/O Sounds that Toddlers Make...

My niece is almost 3, and when she was very young my DH taught her to say "aaahhhhh" after taking a sip of her milk/juice/water (like, the sound of refreshment).

Flash forward to about 6 months ago, he decides to start early with DS. Except DS gets confused and to this day, when he wants a sip of water/milk/juice/whatever one of us is drinking, he leans forward, looks at the glass with intent, and says "ahhhhh". And then grins expectantly.

It is his most adorable trait to this day.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.

  • We taught that AAHHHH sound to Caleb too, back when we were making the transition from bottles to sippy and we wanted the sippy to be more 'FUN'.  Anyway, he still makes the sound sometimes after drinking, but even cuter, he'll make it randomly while eating, or in the bathtub, or whenever :P
  • lol that is super cute. DD makes a blowing sound when I blow on her food to cool it off. It's adorable.

  • DH taught G the same thing! He does it all the time.
  • So cute!!!!!

P says "ahhh" when someone else drinks something.  My mom taught him that when she was drinking her coffee.  Pretty cute, our little men!
