I tried doing some google searches to look for pictures.... I found that to be as unhelpful as it was unpleasant. We have been fighting this darn diaper rash for over a month now. I have tried different creams, different diapers, airing her out, frequent changes, and yet it doesn't go away. It has even spread a bit. Ugh. It isn't bleeding or anything, but it is very red and clearly persistent. The pedi saw it at her 4 month and didn't seem at all concerned, but I think it has gotten worse since then. How do I know if this is a yeast related rash that needs an Rx? Or just sensitive skin? Is it time to call the pedi again?

Re: How do I know if it is a yeast related diaper rash?
Preston got a nasty one that had yeast and they told me to put Lotrium (athlete's foot cream) on his bottom for a few days. It worked like a charm!
Cal had a yeast rash that looked like little whiteheads (not a ton of them, but that was the one thing that stood out as being different from other diaper rashes). Our pedi recommended using Lotrimin cream every other diaper change, and regular diaper rash cream in between.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!

Using the Lotrimin won't hurt. I have used it on regular rashes as well and it is fine.
