I miss nursing sooooo much! I wanted to nurse "A" at least until she was 1. But wasn't able to when I got PG again last year when she was 6months. I had to quit due to complications that lead to MC. I am super anxious to nurse again!
Does anyone miss nursing if this applies to you???
Re: I cannot wait to nurse again!!!!
YES! I miss it so much. We were done at 1 year and I can't wait to go again!
Oh and just to be contrary to other posters, I was never so hungry in my life as when I was breastfeeding. I ate anything and everything in site, and gained weight.
I'm still nursing and am looking forward to the few months I'll have my boobs back to myself before another baby being attached to them 24/7. ;-)
I look forward to having a good nursing relationship with my LO, and nursing a 3 month or older baby is very efficient. I do look forward to the bonding experience. However, I am not really looking forward to nursing a newborn. Both my kids had trouble latching for quite some time, and it was very frustrating. Every baby is different though, so hopefully this one will latch right away.
I also worry about the time commitment involved with nursing a newborn (30-45 minutes per session, 8-10 sessions a day, so like 5-6 hours a day); it just gives my two kids more opportunity to make messes and mischief.
Ok, I have a question for you nursing gals..... I want to nurse, but I am terrified to because the people I know personally that have done it...well...their "girls" turned into chicken cutlets. I'm not trying to be selfish, but I sure don't want what I've got just deflate like that. I've read that studies show the "deflation" happens from the individual body's reaction to pregnancy itself, not from nursing, but I can't help but notice this did not happen to women I know who did not nurse.
Can anyone shed some light? Thanks!
Most of the evidence points to the fact that pregnancy is what does that, NOT breastfeeding itself. And unless you are looking at their naked boobs, you really have no idea. There are bras out there that fix a lot of flaws. Mine look exactly the same as they did pre-pregnancy and pre-breastfeeding.
Nursing is worth the risk! As far as benefits to mom and baby. Plus it makes you lose the baby weight. I'd rather have less than perfect boobs and my body back then perky ones and be fat! I was wearing my size 2 jeans 12 wks after giving birth. I am still nursing my DD and can't wait to nurse the next one. My boobs look exactly the same.
Me, too!! Although I'm having a hard time adjusting to the idea of actively weaning DS, rather than letting him wean himself.
And here I thought I'd only nurse for six months top.
