Anyone make their own baby food? I need some recommendations, I know we're early, but what food processor are you/did you use? With two LO's, I'm thinking it has to be durable! Also, how much time did you spend prepping the food? And lastly, do you have a spare freezer/fridge? We have one of the top-bottom fridge-freezer and the drawer is SO small, I can't imagine it working in the long run. Any resources etc you found helpful would be great! Thanks!
Re: Make your own baby food?
I used a magic bullet which worked great. It didnt take me long at all to prep the food. I usually did it after the kids went to bed on sunday and had plenty for at least that week. We do have a spare freezer, but i never used it for the baby food since it really didnt take up *that* much room. by the time she was really eating big portions and we would have needed the extra storage, she had mostly transitioned off of the purees and onto BLW/finger foods.
Have fun
i really enjoyed making RB's food and didnt find it much extra work at all.

I have made up two trays already. It did not take me long as I did the prep at the same time as our dinner. I have this really old food processor DW's mom gave us two years ago when DW had surgery that required her to eat food the consistency of baby food for two weeks. I have no idea what brand or anything but it is wonderful. I have also made up rice cereal (she has some in her bottle for AR). I do not always but I have been lately. I really like this website:

I made all of our babyfood. Easy peasy. I typically made 3-4 of kinds on a Sunday afternoon and put them in ice cube trays. When they were frozen, I'd pop out the cubes and put them in Ziploc freezer bags. Typically, I didn't use all 12 cubes of one kind in a week, so there were plenty of variety at any time in the freezer. And with the Ziploc bags, it didn't take too much room in the freezer. We have an extra fridge/freezer in the garage and we never needed it.
I wish we'd had a magic bullet back then (we just got one for smoothies and I LOVE it.) I did a lot of steam in the bag frozen veggies and then a quick whir in the food processor. We did buy some jarred fruit (prunes, peaches) b/c we did purees during the winter months when they weren't in season.
I love wholesomebabyfood.com.
Your love for the magic bullet has me wanting one so badly!!! We registered for, but haven't recevied, the beaba and I'm thinking that I should buy the magic bullet instead. I love smoothies, but am too lazy to use the blender on a regular basis.
