Poll: Best baby invention ever???

A couple of fellow bumpies and I agreed on facebook this morning that the pacifier, while ancient and simple, is a lifesaver... Thoughts?

  • yes!!! DD hates hers though!

  • Agreed... well, that and the vibrating swing we also bought for Em.  It saves us from many sleepless nights.  As for pacis & nipple confusion, I have one non-confused baby.  From day 1 she took paci, bottle, and breast- no problem!  Lucky me :)

  • I would have to agree that its one of the best inventions!

Although a close second is my seahorse and boppy chair. Without those Id be lost.

  • Ummm clorox wipes??? This kid consistently pees when his diaper is off for more than 2 seconds!!

    We heart our pacifier too!

  • Mine so far is the newborn napper on the pack and play. She wouldn't sleep on anything but a swing but she loves the napper! And it vibrates and plays music. We love it.

  • Maybe more for me, but I think the boppy is the best invention and then the Dr Browns mixing pitcher. lol.

We are using this as our cradle/bassinet in our room for right now. Our little one sleeps so well in this...almost 2 weeks old and sleeping in 4-5 hours chunks!

Also love our bouncer (with vibration) so far!

We've only used a paci a couple of times when she's really fussy and abusing me to suck, but she doesn't care for it much other than during those times.

  • The Swing for us.

Neither of my DD's would take a pacifier.

My 2 girls, both born on a Friday the 13th, are exactly 2 years, 2 months, 2 hours and 2 minutes apart! And Baby Boy joined us October 11, 2013! image

  • Summer SwaddleMe blankets and paci's.

  • The pacifier is helpful at times, but DS isn't really that into it most of the time. My vote for best invention goes to the swing. DS isnt' really too fussy, but it's great for either soothing him or giving him some stimulation when he's awake but I need to have my hands free for a few minutes depending on what setting I put it on.
  • The boppy is a close second for sure

  • I wish I liked my boppy more. I am never comfortable when breastfeeding. I use it but I feel like I always have to lean over bc she'll fall in between the boppy and me.

  • Paci & swing for sure!

  • LJB - Same here about the Boppy. I do not use mine. Maybe I will to help her when she is sitting up? I use my Boppy Cuddle pregnancy pillow (kidney shaped) to BF. That or just a regular bed pillow. So much easier for me. The regular Boppy is too stiff and full.

SlWhatley - WHERE did you get that Fozzy Bear?! SO adorable. Please let me know. I need one! :P

I will agree that (for us) the Summer Infant's SwaddleMe blankets are the "best invention." Violet is not into pacifiers. Our LC told us to try and stay away from them, but if we do use the, to get her off of them starting at 6 months to avoid messing up her teeth. (She doesn't like them anyway though, bc we have tried.)

  • The swing and boppy for sure. DS never had a pacifier and I'm not giving one to DD either. I just don't feel the need to.
