I was just curious who all was getting fertility acupuncture. How long have you been doing it, and have you seen any improvements, etc?
I'm going on my 8th week. I had 2 appointments each week for the first 6 weeks, and then 1 a week for the next 6 weeks. I think it's going well so far. My acupuncturist is especially trying to strengthen my kidney, because it's apparently rather weak.
I'm kind of bummed though, because it hasn't shortened my cycle length yet, which I was expecting. I do plan on carrying out my 12-week plan, but don't know if I'll continue on after those 12 weeks. My doctor has a great success rate though, so I'm trying to stay optimistic.
Re: Acupuncture ladies
My first appt is not until Nov 8. I have never done it, so I am excited. I want to focus on anxiety more than TTC, because that is what is really taking over my life right now (although the anxiety is all related to TTC).
best of luck to you - I am interested to see how it goes for you as time goes by.

I felt my ovary for the first time ever after my first appointment!
I have been doing it for three cycles. It has dramatically lessened my headaches, cramps, and general anxiety. My cycle has gotten a bit longer and my lp has remained a consistent 14 days. Now if only I could get pregnant I would be PSYCHED.

I've herd really good things about it helping with anxiety. Good luck!
My sinuses were really bad during one of my appointments, so I got a needle on each side of my nose and my sinus issues were better the next day.
that is awesome. I know a friend that did it after many cycles of charting and no BFP..but I think anxiety is definately working against me so I figure why not.

So funny you mention those sinus points. I KNOW it will help with my sinuses (severely deviated septum and allergies) but that is the only place that I am anxious about her placing needles. All the other spots I have been fine with. Tell me to get over it!!!!

wow, your insurance covers it? that is cool. I will have to pay $125 for the inital assessment (she said about 1.5 hours) and then approx $60 for each treatment. I figure it's better for me than Ativan

I'm not going to lie, that was the only area I've had a needle go in that I actually felt. But once it was in, I was fine ? it was just weird looking at them, because it was like I had whiskers.
I have a $35 copay with my insurance. I guess Cigna covers all acupuncture by default, which was a nice surprise.
I think this fear stops a lot of people, but it is truly remarkable. I start looking forward to my appointments a couple days before. It still feels odd, and there can be a twinge when some needles are inserted, but then my body gets so calm, and I feel a low vibration throughout my body. I am amazed by what it has done for my anxiety as well as for my headaches.
