I'm so so scared of fish. To the point where I can't walk by them in the grocery store. The heads, the scales the eyes, UGH! They freak me the fvck out. I can't even eat fish with skin on it.
Tropical fish, I can handle. But they have to be pretty.

My miracle, James Frederick born May 2, 2011 via C-section
1. I was attacked by a pet bird at my babysitter's as a child.
2. I was attacked by a mama bird while attempting to park my bike under a tree at the park. She violently swooped in and pecked my head as I ran around screaming my head off. It was quite a sight. This was in college.
3. AND a few years ago a bird attacked me and tried to peck at my dog's tail. DH didn't believe me that the bird was doing this, until he witnessed it himself.
And that is why I am afraid of birds. Venice, Italy, my friends, is NOT a fun place to be with this fear. :::runs through St. Mark's square hiding inside jacket.:::

I forgot one-- possums. I can't stand the ugly things. When I was little our inside cat got out one night and I was looking for her by our shed and a possum hissed at me. I know they are unlikely to attack, but their beady eyes and sharp teeth are enough to send me running!

Bees, wasps, hornets, pretty much anything with a stinger that flies towards me in a zig-zaggy patern.
No bad stories. They just freak me the eff out. I end up running away and screaming like a little girl.
I would rather take my chances with a hungry lion than do this:
This is exactly what I was going to say. If I see a wasp or bee anywhere in the vicinity, it's not a pretty sight. I will end up running around screaming my head off while everybody stares. I don't really know why I'm so afraid of them. I was stung by a wasp, a bee, and a yellow jacket all when I was young, I guess those memories just really stuck with me.

knives..absolutely panic attack inducing terror of them! I'm okay holding them but I hate when people talk while holding them and shake them around. and I hate when people hand them to me wrong.
Heights. I can't go near anything with a cliff - I honestly don't know how I survived the Blue Mountains in Australia. I can't even watch things like SpiderMan or any movie that involves looking down from or falling off tall buildings, cliffs, planes...
Worse, I get ridiculous physical reactions to heights - not in my head, but my hands sweat like crazy as well as my feet - plus my feet ache. It's totally messed up.
I also second Carrie's fear of fish. I hate them and happily avoided all sea creatures until I met DH. *Of course* he has to be a fisherman - and has on occasion left WHOLE FISH in the fridge - eyes and all.

Snakes! Where I grew up there were copperheads and rattlers around so I am just paranoid of them. I totally freak out and freeze up when I see one. Mom loves to tell the story about when I went to get the mail and a snake crawled into the middle of the driveway. So I was stuck between the mailbox and the snake with the house on the other side and REFUSED to cross. Oh yeah, and it was just a tiny little harmless black snake...but who knew!!

When I was little the geese next to our house would case me and try to eat my diper.
When I was in college I worked in the grouse house one summer and about died. The birds kept trying to peck at me.
This year I was walking outside of my office and this bird came swooping in at me. It hit the brick wall and then came back out at me. I let the louded bloodcurdling scream that the people I work with thought that someone was attacking me and ran out to check.
I am fine with birds when they have the fuzz, but once they get feathers I am so over them.
Cockroaches. I literally don't sleep for about a week in the spring when I know they will be coming out soon. I also cried in front of 30 of my college students when one landed on me. I was so humiliated.

P.S. I was about to ask "what's up with this bird thing?" when I realized that DH is not particularly fond of turkeys. I am terrified of heights (does not include flying) and small spaces. I can ride fast roller coasters, but will panic and white-knuckle it on a ferris wheel. I couldn't tour the soviet submarine because it was waaaaaaaaay to cramped for my liking - had to reverse through the line to quickly get out. Nothing exciting about that.
I am claustrophobic x 1 million. Just having my legs held down or squinched up will send me into panicky crying terror. One of my biggest pregnancy fears is claustrophobia-by-proxy. I feel so bad for the poor fetus being all cooped up in there, whether he knows any better or not.
I'm terrified of werewolves. I get that they are mythical creatures and don't even exist but I am still phobic. I can't watch them in movies or see pictures. If I do I just curl up into a little ball on the couch after turning on all the lights and sit there. I LOATHE them.
Events: When I was little (like 2) my older sister and I used to love looking at the side window of my house. One Halloween my neighbor thought I was her and snuck around in his werewolf mask and jumped up in front of the window to scare her as a prank. Totally backfired, I would totally inconsolable and would never go near the window again.
