I just can't bring myself to buy a pair of maternity jeans for $70+ that I'll only be wearing for another 3 months!
I know people have said that Gap makes the best, but still, they seem so expensive.
Why is it so damn hard to find a good pair for less than $40??
Re: Am I the only cheap one???
I wouldn't spend $70 on a pair of non-maternity jeans. My favorite maternity jeans are the $18 ones from Walmart.
no, you are not the only cheap one! i about choked today when looking for a sweater online. i needed one for my dress, for my shower. i found one i liked and the i saw the price $295.00 for a stinking sweater! No THANKS!
anyway, i went to Motherhood Maternity (motherhood.com for online orders) and they had some jeans that i really like. They were $35 and I love them. I bought them in two different washes, light and dark and the new waist band on them is wonderful. They don't look like they will be comfortable going up so high but the material is barely there and you can't see it when you have a shirt on. They do have pricey stuff on the site but looking around, you can find deals there.
hth...
This! I love my Old Navy maternity jeans. I also have a pair of Motherhood jeans that I love that were given to me by a friend, but they seem to go for around $30-40.
Also, check out https://cravingstyle.com/ for good deals on gently used clothing. ebay as well.
Yes. My last. I live in a small town, and there aren't many 2nd hand stores. It's really hard to find good, used jeans in my size (1 or 2).
That makes sense. Then I highly recommend the motherhood ones with the secret fit belly. Under $40 and you can even get them on sale usually. I was going on a "per wear" price this go-round
I just didn't want you to be as bummed as I was when I realized that all my pants sucked for this pregnancy and had to start over.
My favorite pair of jeans ever were $4 on clearance at Kohl's.
I had a hard time splurging on their $25-ish (after coupon) maternity jeans. I will probably not buy another pair, either.
My Wedding Bio! Not updated in a LONG time!
Yeah, I'm watching a couple pair now. Hopefully, the price won't jump too high when the bidding ends.
Yeah, there's no guarantee. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately given my fat ass
lol) I don't really fluctuate much.
We have a Maternity Works at the nearby outlet. They sell mostly Motherhood, but also closeouts from Mimi, A Pea in the Pod, Splendid, etc. I bought a pair of jeans there a few weeks ago that were from A Pea in the Pod for 70% off. They are made SO much better than my pair from Motherhood.
I've also bought some really cute, new-with-tags Ann Taylor Loft maternity from Ebay. I shopped there a lot before pregnancy so I was pretty confident buying sight unseen. Plus, that particular Ebay store allows returns which is awesome.
This. I got mine on sale, plus had a 30% of code, free delivery, etc. The price ended up very comparable to other jeans at Kohl's and places like that. Plus, I'm relatively small (a size 2 or so) and short (5'3"), so "small" jeans are too big on me. Gap jeans come in sizes, rather than just small / med / large.
I would have been okay with getting Old Navy jeans, too, but they didn't have any available in a 2 that were ankle-length. Plus, I wanted full panel, and that limited the choices further.
I think if you have a hard time finding regular jeans, you're more likely to pay an extra $20 or so for jeans that fit well (at least for now).
All that being said, I definitely won't be spending significant money on shirts. It's less important to me that those fit perfectly, and the difference between a shirt that fits really well and a shirt that just fits okay is much smaller, IMO, than the differences in the way jeans fit.
To each their own, I suppose.
I would not spend that much on even a regular pair of pants! So dont worry, you are not being cheap, you are being practical.
All my maternity pants so far have come from JC Penny and were all about $20 each, they carry a brand called "Duo" good stuff IMO.
i tried and returned my gap ones. i liked them but not for the price.
i ended up paying $20 for a new pair from the gap at a consignment shop that has a nice maternity section.
no! I'm cheap!!!!
I got a couple of pairs of tommy hilfiger jeans for $4 ea and sewed some scrap jersey on. done.
shirts....just search for target clothes at the thrift stores! their xs is perfect for maternity, LOL; they don't know how to size clothing there!!!
be careful on ebay though..i bought a couple of shirts and they were so piled I returned them...I find better (and brand new) stuff at the thrift stores!

I got my ON maternity jeans on sale for $24. Since I plan to live in them (and they are sooo comfy), I figured it was a fine price.
This is most likely my only pregnancy, so I don't want to spend a ton of $$$. But there is no reason you would have to spend $70 on maternity jeans.
