When/Why woud you strip CD's

I was just thinking for some reason...I have mostly BG 4.0's plus a few other random CDs...so 95% of my inserts are microfiber. They smell clean when coming out of the dryer but some of them are starting to look "dingie"

Should I srtip them? What is the point? and How do I do it :) thank you!!

Good morning ladies!

Re: When/Why woud you strip CD's

  • Stripping your inserts isn't going to make them bright white again.  You strip when you have detergent build-up on your diapers/inserts.  You can tell you have build-up because they will stink even when freshly laundered.  I strip using about a teaspoon or so of original blue Dawn and HOT water (I add a kettle or two of boiling water), then rinse rinse rinse until there are no more bubbles.

To brighten up your dingy inserts, you could try sunning them.  I will say, though, that I have found that sunning stops working on mf after awhile.  If it really bothers you, you could try bleaching, but that will likely affect the longevity of the inserts.  And really, they're just going to get pooped on again!

  • Yup, ditto pp.  If dinginess is what you're trying to fix, the sun is a miracle worker.  I didn't really believe it either until I left one out for an afternoon.  The stain was GONE after a few hours.  It works!
