me!! Today is Halloween. Let's get through that. Then I'll start to think about Thanksgiving and somewhere between now and maybe the week before thanksgiving I will start to think about Xmas. I sure as heck won't decorate until the beginning of December. I see a day where it's Christmas 365 days a year. no thanks.
I don't like to decorate and get into it until after thanksgiving-I really enjoy all the holidays and like to do it one at a time. I would get sick of christmas if I did it any earlier.. I like to buy a few gifts ahead of time tho so I can enjoy a stress free Christmas.

I'm w/ you. I liked it when the Xmas season started after Thanksgiving, not days before Halloween. What's so special about it if it last almost 1/3 of the year?
Bubs, can I post about Christmas tomorrow then? Lol, just kidding. Not being ready will probably save you money and over buying so that probably is better than my obsessing.

Well, I definitely want to enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving before the full on Christmas talk, however, I've been finished all of my Christmas shopping for nearly a month. Does that make me a hypocrite? LOL

If MIL asks me one more time if I started shopping for the kids, I'm going to scream. I keep telling her that last year I shopped early online, and then I saw everything that I bought cheaper and in stock at Target in December. Not doing it again!!!!
I'm using my inside voice to talk Christmas. I have ideas for DH, bought 2 gifts for DD, and am trolling Etsy for stuff. But I'm not out chopping my tree down.
I love that Nordstrom has stuck to their policy of no Christmas decor until the day after Thanksgiving. I literally get so overwhelmed shopping at Macy's with their throwup of decorations and Christmas crap in October.
Hell No I am not ready. Lets see, gettting a house ready to sell, putting a contract on another one, hell with the ILs, trip to upstate NY to see DH's granparents with BOTH kids 6+ hours of travel in airplanes and airports, packing our whole life up, moving, DS's 2nd birthday, unpacking. This is all stuff that needs to be done before I can even begin thinking about Christmas, hell with a list this long we will be lucky to actually get a tree up this year.
I am ready ..sort of. We found out at a meeting last week that our bank will be down 2 fulltimers for the 2 weeks before Christmas. I have started shopping (odds & ends), wrapping paper, etc.. 80% of my gifts are mailed out of state. Knowing this, I can't afford to not think ahead.
PS - I do agree that the stores are really pushing it. IMO, you should not see Halloween and Christmas decorations for sale side by side. I love that Nordstrom doesn't decorate till Black Friday!
I felt the same way until I walked into Home Goods and they has so much great stuff to decorate with. Then I may have changed my mind just a touch.
I've also thought about gift buying as my sisters and Mom are coming down to FL. I'd like to spread out the shopping since it seems like you've spent less that way.
Me! Dude, here in the UK, they have had Christmas stuff up since the beginning of October. I can't handle that right now. Just let it be Autumn for awhile, sheesh!
the only things I've thought about is our plans (i.e., when and where we're traveling to family), the kid's Christmas outfits, and we set our budget for gifts so I've been shopping a bit here and there.
But I'm not ready for it at all, nor do I want to talk about it. I'm just going to try to survive Thanksgiving at MY house with my in laws. KILL ME NOW.

Christmas 2011
Not really. I did get DD her dress, but I need it for a wedding.
I have to get through DD's birthday in a couple of weeks and then I can start of thinking of it.

I agree. I think it's a shame that Thanksgiving tends to get skipped over. I love Thanksgiving!
On that note, I bought DD's Christmas dress today... but in my defense, we're getting her pictures taken in a couple weeks.
