Breastpump Question??

I want to get a breastpump, after the baby is born if I can feed, but am not sure what brand of pump to get. I know I will need a double electric pump, b/c I plan on solely breastfeeding and will be pumping everyday while at school and clinicals.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been looking at the Medela Pump in Style Advanced and the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra.

I also looked into both of those with my first.  I ended up with the Ameda mostly for cost reasons.  The other reason I chose the Ameda was that milk never got into the tubes so I would never have to sterilize them.  The Ameda worked really well for me while I was pumping at work.  I'm sure the Medela works really well too, but I have experience with the Ameda and I can definitely recommend it, and who doesn't like saving a little bit of money.

I had originally set my sights on the Ameda, but want to be sure and have researched everything. I plan on keeping it to use with each baby we have. I really want to get my money's worth.

My Ameda still works well (it has plenty of suction).  I plan on using it for this LO also.  I'm sure either one will work just fine, it probably just comes down to how much you want to spend.

I plan on getting the Medela Freestyle.  It's more expensive than the PISA but I've heard it's better too since it's hands-free and you can walk around with it.

My MIL bought the Medela PISA for me and one for my SIL, who is already using it. She loves it! And the milk does not go into the tubes, so the only thing to clean are the cone parts that go on your breasts. She also used the hospital one while she was recovering from her c/s and says the Medela PISA is just as good as the one at the hospital.

I got the Medela PISA. I've only heard good things about it from other people.

Just wanted to say thanks for this post.  I've been confused as to which pump I would purchase as well.

I have the Lansinoh, which I think I remember reading is the exact same thing as the Ameda. I did a ton of research when I bought it (4yrs ago) and, like pp said, I liked that the milk never touches anything.
