He's BF. I was thinking about drinking some prune juice tomorrow to see if that would help him. Has anyone done that? Any other suggestions? Anything I can mix with the prune juice?
Unfortunately I dont have any suggestions as far as what you can do for constipation but when DD was ebf she would sometimes go 5 days or so and when I mentioned this to my Dr. they informed me that ebf babies can go without pooping for 10-14days max without it being a problem...
IMO though I would try what you mentinoed with the prunce juice and IF it doesnt help well it wont do any harm either = ) Good Luck!

DD didnt go for 4 days as of yesterday and was in so much pain DH had to go ask the pharmacist for baby suppositories at midnight last night. They worked! However, she usually goes at least once a day and still hasn't gone more than the initial suppository time.

We dealt with this a few weeks ago with DS. The pedi told us it isn't a problem until its been more like 10-12 days or the baby looks/acts upset or uncomfortable. He said to try a warm bath, taking a rectal temperature because they instinctively try to push it out and end up pooping, or diluted apple juice.
For us all it took was the warm bath and temperature.
I'm pretty sure I couldn't let my baby go that long without pooping.
? Because you control it?
Sometimes
their bodies need more nutrients and produce less waste. As long as
the LO isn't showing signs of discomfort, there's nothing wrong with
it. Would you try to make a baby conform to what you think is an
acceptable schedule?

This. My baby has always been a sparse pooper and has gone as many as 10 days. The pedi wasn't worried and said as long as he isn't straining or in pain, he's fine. She double checked with a pediatric gastroenterologist who said the same thing.
If he is uncomfortable, a Q-tip with vaseline or a rectal thermometer up the bum can do the trick. If he's not, let him work it out on his own.
The hair grows in thick where the horn used to be.
Sarah goes as long as 6 days between poops. She will get really squirmy and strain a lot when she's ready. It's my signal to get ready for a poosplosion, lol.
You don't need to do anything until it's been like 3 weeks, which Dr Jack Newman says can still be normal. This applies only to BF babies as what they eat is so pure, that there simply is no waste to poop out.
You are just going to stress yourself out by trying all these things. My DS only goes 1 day a week, but that day, we are in for about 3 or 4 HUGE poopy diapers.

Also this. My daughter went 5 days w/o pooping. She was in no distress and didn't seem to care that she hadn't either lol. I'd leave it alone unless she looked/acted uncomfortable. Then call the pedi. It's normal for babies BFing to go 5-8 days w/o pooping. Its not really common for BF babies to be constipated.
I called my pedi when it had been six days and they said to put 1/2 a teaspoon of Karo syrup in his bottle 2-3 times a day. He went within a day of me doing that.
My DD is an every day type pooper, so for her to go this long without pooping really bothers her. Her tummy gets rock hard and she literally screams in pain. The suppositories are just pure glycerin, which is totally harmless, and over the counter. The baby ones are still big to me so I break them in half and only give her the smaller tapered end. She'll go within 5 mins of having it in and poops out the rest of the suppository. I ONLY give it to her when she is screaming in pain with a hard tummy because I dont want her to get dependent, and the pharmacist said it is totally fine to do this once in awhile if she needs it.

are they over the counter? Or Rx?
What is in them?

Giving them something to help them poop when they don't really need to poop can make them dependent on help.
My pedi said to let him go until the 10 day mark. At 7 days, he literally filled an entire diaper. He hasn't pooped since, and we are day 4 again.
FWIW, he was never in any pain or straining. This is just his new normal.
